Question What Would You Like To See Go Away On Cruises?

I just was thinking of the different cruises we have taken.

After a cruise of two I sure some of you have said. ."oh no, not again". Maybe it was The Hairy Chest Contest, or Singing and Dancing Waiters, maybe all the photos they want to make of you getting on, going ashore, dinning. I am not making a complaint. . .just opening this for feedback from the many cruisers who use this board. So think and add "I would like to see____________- go away on my next Carnival Cruise". Feel free to add "I would like to see __________________ added."

Announcements over the PA system unless it's an emergency.

I would like Carnival to get rid of the CD Morning show. the one or two times I watched it was really lame, especially when on the Freedom's Poolside screen.

I would like Carnival to add more cooking demos

so would disagree..i d like them to do away with stopping everyone
boarding the ship for pictures..

better would have a section set aside for those who would like a photo
taken..

We enjoy cruising so much, there's not a lot I'd want to change. Perhaps add a 2 for 1 happy hour special on DOD's on sea days?

Just politely say "no thank you" and keep walking. That's what we do.

The pool side theatre blaring during the day.

People want to relax in the sun and not have to be subjected to that noisy intrusive thing.

I admit it is a neat idea, but it can get annoying.

Also limit the amount of photo taking areas in the evenings. It takes up so much space and causes traffic jams. Sometimes emergency exits and stairs are blocked.

While I do not mind attending the muster drills, I do not like having to haul around those nasty *** life vest for a half hour in the heat. Cant we have the drill without the vest? Why not keep all the vest on deck? In an emergency not everyone will be able to reach their staterooms so why keep them all there? I think it can be reworked.

I'd like to see the big screen tv on the lido deck go away! I've been on 7 Carnival cruises and the first time we saw this jumbo tv was on the Victory in 2007. I dislike it partly because I'm not a huge tv watcher to begin with and am very selective about what I watch. They were actually broadcasting CNN in the mornings when we went up to lay out--I barely watch the news at home (too much violence) and certainly don't want to see it when I'm on vacation! To me, watching the news is a personal choice one can opt for in the privacy of their cabin--don't force it down everyone else's throats. I wrote this in my comment card at the end of the cruise.

On the Caribbean Princess, there was a jumbo screen, but the layout of their pool deck is much different. There are 2 main pool areas (like the Spirit class Carnival ships), and the jumbo screen only affected ONE of these areas. We simply sat in the non-tv area. I don't want to have to sit at the aft pool on Carnival to avoid the tv--I like the main area. My other issue was with the volume of the tv--it was way too loud. I put my headphones on to listen to my music and could barely hear it for the noise booming from this loud tv.

I don't know if anyone else feels this way, but I just prefer listening to the island music of the live bands. I don't mind reading my book or putting my headphones on when the band is on break (or even hearing nothing at all). If I want to watch tv, I'll go to my cabin.

Still love Carnival, though. I surely wouldn't stop cruising due to this. I just wish they'd re-think the whole tv thing on deck.

"I would like to see the current photo display system- go away on my next Carnival Cruise". Feel free to add "I would like to see the ability to view my own pictures on the cabin tv so I can order only the ones I like without spending wasted cruise time searching for my pictures added."

I agree, do away with CD morning show on the Jumbo Trons, it's just boring as can be.

Good one!

What I would like to see go away is the LAST DAY OF THE CRUISE - then I could keep sailing forever!

Ditto on nixing the big screen tv, I'm on vacation and don't want it blaring all day. I would like to see a presentation of port information, regarding the history and culture of the area.

I don't like that it takes almost an hour from the time you buy a bingo ticket and when you actually get to play.

That is a great idea. Never even thought of that. I love history. Maybe even a little video tour of the area the ship will be heading to.

I would like to see complaining passengers go away. I will never understand the need to complain.

I would like to see on my next Carnival cruise a VIP party.
