We're planning on taking the Star Princess in summer 2010 and would like to know how long it takes to get to the airport from the cruise ship as well as what time we can logistically get off the ship in the morning. We are going to go a day early so getting to the ship will not be a problem. We prefer doing our own air as Princess has no guarantees about # of connections and time of departing flight.
We would appreciate a reply from anyone who has done this with Princess. Thanks, boxster and spouse. |

I need the same question answered. I can find a flight home departing at 12:15 - is this a possibility or am I cutting it too close to the wire - it appears this is the lastest flight - if this would not work I need to stay over night.
Help someone. |

I just left Copenhagen this Tuesday. It took us almost an 90 minutes to get to the airport. Most of the delay was from leaving the port. They were doing road construction at the port exit so it was down to 1 lane, and there were 3 ships in freeport that day. Our flight was at 10:50 am and we barely made it. Once we go out of the port area though, it took no more then 25-30 min.

the 12:15 plane is probably no problem. As others have said the airport is close to the city, but problems can come up unexpectedly. If you have travel insurance and have actually given yourself enough time you will be protected, but if you are just cutting it close margins for error need to be built in for economic safety in the event of a missed plane.

We just left the Copenhagen port on Sunday, August 30. It took us about 25 minutes to get to the airport. Keep in mind this was a Sunday morning, no traffic. Cost about 50 $. We were late getting into the port, disembarked at 8"50AM, got our luggage and a taxi and we were off. Arrivaed at the airport before the cruise buses, so no line. Flight left at 11:25, we were at the gate by 9:50.
Those who took the ships transfer were mush later getting to the airport. Did not get to the gate until about 10:50!! Hope this helps, I would think a 12:00 or later flight would be no problem. Last edited by mal1640; September 4th, 2009 at 05:16 PM. |
