Default No Seaveys Dog Show - Bummer!

I'm a big Iditarod fan and all summer long I've been looking forward to the Seavey's Dog Rodeo and dinner in Anchorage. Several times I've called just to make sure they were open in September and I have always been assured they were staying open later this year. Just called to make reservations for the 9th and they told me the 7th is the last show. I'm so bummed out! Now I have to figure out plan "B", since that was intended to be one evenings entertainment.

I am not sure what the show in Anchorage consists of, but if you are in Steward you could go to their kennels. They take you on a sled on wheels thru the woods, I think it was for 2 miles. It is very exciting, it's called Ididaride.

Wasilla, is very close to Anchorage, and the Sled Dog Headquarter's Museum is worthwhile. There are usually Reddington dogs there for the bargain of cart rides.

I was aware that he had a dog show - is he all the way up to Denali? He is my favorite musher.

Susan - I hope all is well in Anchorage after the quake. How is everything? BTW, wasn't Wasilla or Willow the epicenter of the quake?

Heck it was only a 5.0 Actually we're all fine, no reports of damage. I work on the east side of town and we could hear it rolling in. My Mom's up from Southern Illinois and I live southwest side so I called and the first thing she said "Was yes I felt it. She said she first heard the closet doors rattle and then it hit.

Just another day in the neighborhood

And some of us didn't even feel it! Fortunately, I had just heard the dj's on the radio discussing how some of them felt it and some didn't, or I wouldn't have had a clue what my mom was talking about when she called (calling of course because the news in the "lower 48" makes it sound like such a big deal)
