Default Back to back 9319 (Venice > Istanbul); 9320 Istanbul > Venice

Hello

Am taking cruise indicated in subject line -- can't be the only one, but haven't found any info on this (total) 24 day cruise.

My first post (except for signing up for M&M on 1st segment). First cruise on Crystal. First time in all ports, except Greece, which brings back wonderful memories of 3 months of joy, sunshine, sun warmed tomatoes, big chunks of feta -- and my husband and I buying our wedding rings.

I leave Vancouver, Canada Sep 1, Sep 2 transfer @ Frankfurt to Venice. No doubt will present myself as an abject puddle of jet lag at the pier!

would very much like to introduce myself, say Hi, to a few other cheerful folk. I'll be travelling solo thus would truly appreciate knowing at least the occasional fellow traveler.

Thanks in advance

Welcome to Cruise Critic and Crystal Cruises! That is one fabulous itinerary you have picked. I'm soooo jealous. As a fellow solo cruiser, I think Crystal might just be the perfect line for us. I'm sure that you'll find a number of other solos on your cruises. (And the couples will be really nice too!) Enjoy your cruise and please report back to us when you get home.

Have written two fairly lengthy notes to you Patty -- don't want you to even think I didn't bother to reply.
Both times I was logged in as I started writing; both times as I hit "submit", the site assured me I was logged in. both times I submitted, notice came up to log in to continue .....
did so, lost all I'd written.
Please accept my thanks ....... and have you or any others had this happen before?? on a quick look, can find a "tech support" link -- any help would be much appreciated.
Pat

Pat
As someone who is doing her third Crystal cruise and did the first two solo. I originally booked this one also solo but am now joined by a wonderful man I have seeing. We are one 9319 and look forward to meeting you. Have you signed up for the Meet and Mingle..even though there is not a big response here on the boards for this trip I got an email and there are over 10 signed up for meet and mingle...another party to attend.

We are lucky enough to be leaving just 7 days from now..and spending tow nights in Venice.

You can contact me at krmrn@roadrunner.com

safe travels
Karen

Pat, welcome to the Crystal Forum. At any time you can have a look at the Future Cruises thread at the top of the Crystal Forum. Here's where you'll see who is on a particular cruise. KarenLA, who you've just heard from, has registered there. I suggest you go to the thread and add your name for both cruises; Judith02, one of our members, who keeps that thread in tip-top shape, will then add your name to both 9319 and 9320.

While you're at it register for the Meet & Mingle for your cruises. There's a thread at the top of the Crystal Forum for that as well.

Again, welcome. We're on the cruise right after 9320 heading toward Athens.

Talking Thanks for helpful hints, Chuck

So sorry for very late reply, Chuck. Finally found this thread I started tonite by googling. Have "lurked" on Cruise Critic for years, absorbing the acres of good info. Probably getting my "come-uppance" now since am finding it a bit hard to use.
Have registered for both M&M, have initial emails "will advise if/when more than 10" but heard nothing more.
If - or even if not! - I have anything thrown into a suitcase in next 36 hours, I'll be on that dock in Venice!

It's time for your great adventure, Pat. I will be thinking of you.

Do me a favor and when you board, go and introduce yourself to your Maitre'd in the dining room (his name is Leo Assmair and he is an absolutely terrific guy; on your first day aboard, in the afternoon, he'll have "office hours" in one of the public rooms). Tell him that you are traveling solo and you'd like to be seated with other like-minded travelers. In about two seconds he will understand and will do his best to have you with tablemates you'll enjoy.

I have the feeling that once you meet KarenLA and even one or two of your fellow travelers you'll be very thankful that you embarked on this adventure. During these two cruises you will also no doubt have made at least one new lifetime friend, and of course, there's no price that can be placed on that.

As for the M&M you may not reach the minimum of ten people that Crystal requires. If you do, you'll receive a message in your stateroom once you're aboard. However, there will be quite a few other complimentary events that will facilitate "meeting and mingling". Just wait -- you'll see!

Bon Voyage!

Chuck-

Pat, when logging in after you enter your user name and password, check the box to "Remember me." That way your board session will not automatically time out.
