Default Sydney tower photo op

I'm thinking of going up the tower prior to boarding our cruise or in the afternoon prior to departing. I'm looking to get a birds eye view photo of the Circular Quay port area. Does anyone know if it is possible to see the ships from the tower? On the tower website it looks like other buildings block part of the view.

I don't think you would get a direct line of sight. Here are a couple of pics I found.

The other place to take good photos is from Circular Quay station.

Also if you walk around the quay a little way to the left but before the opera house, there is a lift that will take you up to Cahill expressway. You can get a decent view from there also, similar to the railway, not sure if you can get into the station without buying a ticket.

Not quite birds eye view though.

You can also go up to the bridge pylon but that also costs, you do get a great view from there though almost as good as the bridge climb.

No, the station's enclosed so no access without a ticket. The expressway is higher though.

Thanks for the tips and photos. One of the photos clearly the bridge just to the left of the office building and a small piece of the Opera House to the right with everything between blocked. The other directions look great.
