Default Danang, Vietnam - My Son ruins and Hoian Tour Proposal

How does this proposal look? The guide takes US cash. We are scheduled to be docked from 7:00am-7:00pm.

I asked if Hue and Hoian were possible in one day and here was the answer.

"- It's impossible to do Hue and Hoian in the same day because it's 2
different directions of 150km far from each other and each place has
many things to see.

So we would like to suggest you to visit My Son ruins instead of Hue
Ruins. My Son is a very nice place with Cham cultures and achitecture.
My Son can be seen in the same day with Hoian, marble mountains. As
you will see My Son ruins, no need to visit the Cham Museum for
similar things because you won't have enough time for the museum

Tien Sa port in Danang – Tour to Hoian

07:30 Pick-up from inside Tien Sa port,

8:00 Visit the China Beach Have a walk on the beach

8:30 Transfer to My Son ruins, a World Cultural Heritage site.

9:30 Arrival in My Son. Enjoy the scenic landscapes and
mysterious Cham arts and architecture at My Son

10:30 Transfer to HOI AN, the pleasant ancient town of Vietnam,
a World Cultural Heritage site since 1999.

11:30 Enjoy pleasant city walk to the Hoian history museum,
Fujien Chinese temple, Tan Ky ancient house, the famous Japanese
pagoda bridge, Hoi An Market and great shopping.

13:00 Enjoy lunch of local specialties (“cao lau” noodle, fried
wontons, white roses etc.) at Cargo Bar (exclusive).

14:00 Then transfer to Danang,

15:00 Visit the Marble mountains with Buddhist temples and
caves and visit handicraft village at the bottom of the mountains

17:00 Transfer back to the port.

17:30 Drop-off at the Tien Sa port

Price

My Son-Hoian

2-3 pax 112 each
4-5 pax 81 each
6-7 pax 69 each

The price includes a modern car (2005 and up)
Entrance fees
Water and wet tissues
Permit to pick-up inside the port

It does not include lunch or drinks or tips.

It's Smile Tours Vietnam. People on this board are using them but I can't find a link to someone who has used them already.

Default RE: Tour

This is the same tour proposal we received from the same tour company for Nautica on March 8, 2010. Not really too bad even for 2 people considering you get China Beach, Hoian and My Son

Were you given the same prices? We actually have a group of 4 interested. I asked about Hue, Hoian and the Marble Mountains, and was told we couldn't do both Hue and Hoian and My Son was recommended instead of Hue. I didn't know it was a World Heritage Site.

Ours was a little cheaper as it is about an hour less due to sailing time.

Ok, we have 4 people confirmed. The My Son ruins make the tour more expensive because of extra travel time. The Cham Art Museum instead would be less. I noticed Azamara goes to the museum instead of My Son. Their Hoin and Art Museum does not include the marble mountains.

Jade13,
That sounds like a nice itinerary for Danang. We have a guide booked for our February visit there, but haven't gotten into the tour details. I will keep this one for reference in making out ours. Thanks for the info.

Who are you using? We decided on Hoian instead of Hue, so our guide recommended adding My Son. Again, we have the option of skipping My Son and going to the Cham Art Museum instead (order a bit different). Just fyi, that the Cham Art Museum is on Azamara's itineraries and My Son is not (probab because it is closer but also easier to take a crowd into a museum). My Son is listed as a World Heritage Site. The Cham Art Museum is reported to be the only one of its kind in the World so also interesting.

Btw, we did Celebrity Century from Miami in Feb 2008. I posted a review. Are you doing the 4 night or 5 night?

We are using Ha from Vietland Discovery for all of our Vietnam tours. http://www.discovervietnam.com.vn/Eng/index.php After doing some research, Hoi An just seems like the better option; especially with the various sights on the itinerary.

We are doing the four night. I needed one more trip to get to Elite before our Azamara trip, so the shortest one worked great. Where can I find your review?

I will see if I can find the review and will post the link. It prob won't be today. I have to warn you that I was very critical and was blasted on the Celebrity board and haven't been back (they are much more tolerant over on the HAL boards). I did give that cruise a 5 star for value, plus great Sushi bar at 5:00pm each night which I looked forward to each evening (better than on any other ship). We went to give my teenage stepdaughter and her friend a cruise vacation plus picked Cayman Islands for their blue Iguanas (I have a pet green Iguana). Most of my issues were pre-cruise horrible customer service including Celebrity unwilling to give a cruise critic party on a 5 night cruise even though an elite member phoned them (we just wanted a roped off area with tea, coffee and cookies - on our 3 night Eurodam HAL had passed appetizers, champagne and other alcoholic drinks). Ok, what do you need for Elite and what will it do for you on Azamara?

Thanks Jade13, I would like to read it.

I need one more cruise point to get to 10 points that are needed to be Elite on Celebrity. Since Azamara and Royal Caribbean have reciprocity with Celebrity, I will have the same Elite benefits with them.

What are the benefits on Azamara?

This was what the Celebrity benefits were prior to the new enhanced program. I would assume that Azamara will have the same as the new Celebrity benefits by our February cruise date.

This was way too long of a review. I think in the end I was just hoping Celebrity would read it and maybe make some changes for future passengers.

Jade 13,
Thanks for the link. It was a long review. Your Celebrity experience was quite different from our Celebrity cruises. Thank goodness. Celebrity is our favorite line and most of our friends also prefer Celebrity. It is unfortunate that your trip was not what you had hoped for. I am glad that you have enjoyed HAL. We do look forward to trying HAL one of these days, since I hear good things about them.

[quote=Jade13;20913023]How does this proposal look? The guide takes US cash. We are scheduled to be docked from 7:00am-7:00pm.

JADE13, do you have a full load yet? We are on the same cruise (I think) Azama Quest on Feb. 6th Hong Kong to Singapore.

Have you joined our roll call? How many people in your group? I have others interested but need to see if those committed want me to order a larger vehicle. We have also added a short visit to the Cham Art museum (time permitting) for 30-40 minutes to see the highlights, and less time at the marble mountains since it is nearby.
