Thumbs up CB Review 8/13-8/22

This was my first Princess cruise and 8th all together.
Boarding was easy, checked in about 11:30 and left carryons in cabin at noon. First bag came about 2:00 the second about 8:00
Let's get the negatives out of the way.
1. Noticed absence of Purell right away, only place it was seen was in the buffet.
2. Lunch 8/13 in Coral Dining Room: Asked for a table of 2 after the maitre'd got over his shock, we were sent to a table in Siberia and treated like lepers no one came near any table of 2. Same thing for breakfast the next day, changed to Horizon Buffet much better.
3. Silent Disembarkation is not for us. Alot of confusion, no announcements etc.

Now for the good things:
This cruise is certainly low key. No pushing of any sorts, no selling of punch cards at bingo or the shows.
We had mini-suite D422 and it is the nicest stateroom I have ever had.
Room to spare, a real bathroom. The open balcony was no problem, saw someone once, very quiet and private.

The steward James was perfect, he always knew what was needed, really professional. Excellent Service.

The cruise director Ben Styne and his staff were great.
Went to Chef's Table on 3rd night, no words could describe it and we have eaten in very, very good restaurants. Worth every dollar.

Weather great, only we skipped San Juan and St. Thomas because of storm. We never felt anything the weather was perfect.
Port Canaveral would have been on the bottom of my list of places to visit but you have to make the best of it, went to see the Space Center.
In Nassau, took a walk on Bay Street.
Made our 4 hour stop in Grand Turk, why who knows.

Ship beautiful, well kept, pleasant staff.

Would we do it again, yes, the flaws were minor and it's a Princess mini-suite for us from now on.

The ship was full and is large but never felt it's size.

Enjoy

Hi Nettie

I took a picture of the dining room on Embarkment day.

DSCN1811.jpg

The Maitre D' asked if we wanted a table,
we kindly sad no and headed up to the Horizon.
Glad we did, the lunch was Delicious.

The only draw back about the Lemon Aide,
you have to ask one of the servers to get it from the back.
Not available near the self service beverage centers.

To bad they didn't replace the beds during the drydock.
The beds are well used and way past retirement.
They definitely need to be replaced.

The A\C on board was delightful.
Only on the first night did I need a sweater.
The other nights it was comfortable to walk around with sleeveless tops.
Our stateroom was too cold at night.
We needed to raise the temp to stay warm.

The food in the main dining was superb.
Everything was outstanding, especially the cold, smoothy soups.
To die for!!!!!

A little disappointed in the entertainment.
In the beginning of the cruise they repeated the shows twice.
No guests on aboard.
(Don't they plan these things ahead? ? )
They had to get someone quick and they were hoping to have an entertainer by mid cruise. Which they did.

The crew on the CB are extremely helpful, friendly, courteous, and eager to please.

This was our 3rd CB cruise and looking forward to next year's CB cruise in July.

Thanks for the great, positive review. I was so happy to see the "thumbs up" after reading about discontented passengers due to the itinerary change! Good for you for taking it all in stride. We will be on the CB next sailing and hope to have as wonderful a time (although a different itinerary). Thanks!

It is so refreshing to get a positive review, most people just want to air their complaints. We have been on the CB twice before and will be on it again in Sept. We have had NO problems with the ship . Thanks for your review. I truely am glad you enjoyed. Now you can plan your next one.

As for Grand Turk you have to get away from the dock and travel down the road alittle to the Osprey Resort it is truely heaven on earth, sitting on their veranda, sipping a cool drink and watching the ocean. Something to think about for next time.

hmmm....I believe the purpose of thermostats is to adjust the temp as you like

my DH is always cold..luckily he falls asleep first..after he did I lowered the temp so I could snuggle up in the comforter...I always prefer to be cold then warm at night

actually I thought the cabin A/c was excellent..and responded to changes in the thermostat wayy faster than our home ones...obviously due to smaller space...

I am one to NOT simply leave the same temp set all day and night..

the rest of the ship I found to be "enjoyable and cool"
