Default Would you want an inside cabin w/ balcony?

As everyone knows, Oasis of the Seas will have inside cabins with balconies viewing the park inside of the ship. Wow. The park will be the size of a football field, complete with plants/greenery.

I don't think I'd want a balcony looking over the park inside of the ship. I'd still want a balcony looking over the ocean.

How about you?

Only if it cost the same as an inside.

I'm curious what the noise factor will be.

I like the privacy of the balcony, as well as the sounds of the sea.

And then there's the pigeons to worry about.

I suppose just like anything else, different strokes for different folks. Personally, I would never want an inside balcony. It doesn't make sense to me. However, I'm sure there are plenty of people out there that would love it. I am not an RCI fan myself, but I can understand others' draw to the line. I have always thought that RCI was a bit better for those who like city life, since most of the ship (from what I understand) is based off a grand atrium in the center (I could be wrong here). I have often heard others complain about Princess because of "all the walking" because everything is so spread out. While I might enjoy the fact that everything is spread out and I feel less of a crowd, some may be more inclined to have the "Action" of large crowds. I can see where some might like the inside balconies to watch over the hussle and bussle and action of the crowd inside. It's just not my flavor. I'll be interested to see the responses you get here.

I'm feeling really generous today, so if someone is willing to put up the cash, I will test the inside balcony room & report back.

I wouldn't choose one over an outside balcony. If the price were right, I would take one over an inside windowless cabin.

My concerns would be noise & light.

The plus would be if it's low enough to people-watch. That would be constantly changing scenery!

I suppose if it doesn't sell well, those who booked inside guarantees will be getting a free upgrade to these cabins. Based on what I read on this board, I think it happens quite a lot with the Promenade Room right now.

I wouldnt want one just because I enjoy smoking a cigar on my balcony. I doubt this will be allowed on the inside balconies. Also, no renewing the balcony club membership!

I would try one! No wind burn, no sun burn, no suction vortex when opening both doors, no falling overboard!

Besides, if you get an inside balcony towards the aft, wouldn't you still be able to see the ocean out the back? hmm.........

Yeah, the inside balconies toward the stern would be better but I would think they will cost a fortune! I doubt they will ever be in my price range.

It would be fun to watch the water show from the baclony though.

I can look at grass at home so I would not be bothered going to sea to do it - sort of defeats the purpose for me. I want to see the sea

We have an inside balcony booked on Oasis for July 2010
I think it will be a nice change of scenery, but as we are on deck 14,
I don't know what we will actually see LOL.... but we thought we would give it a go and see how we feel

just a thought........ isn't the roof open so you will still get some sunshine and hopefully the noise will dissipate (if that's the right word !)

If I am not mistaken, I believe the inside balconies are more. However, I love looking at the beautiful blue water. That's why we booked a balcony overlooking the water on deck 10 for the Oasis this coming June.

IF you go to the CC home page, there is a picture of the park area looking up at the inside balconies. To me, they look so close together, small and not too far away from the et of balconies on the other side. How wide is the park area?

We are hoping to do the Oasis next year. Think I will stick with outside balcony.

I wouldn't mind one of these balconies, good for people watching. And to me seems along the same lines as a promenade room.

I'm with the majority here: Cruise = water. Calling the insides balconies is really misleading.

I don't think the question is, "Would you want an inside balcony?" If it's a hypothetical question and real money isn't involved, I think EVERYONE wants a balcony overlooking the water.

I think the right question is, "How much would you be willing to pay for an inside balcony?" Speaking for myself, I would see an inside balcony as a slightly glorified promenade cabin, and I would expect it to be in the same price range -- perhaps a tiny bit more (not more than $30) because the balcony does provide a little more space than the promenade cabin's bay window.

If I were traveling with just my husband (not the kids), I would take a promenade cabin in a minute. It's a good value for two people who don't require much space. However, I would expect to pay considerably less than I'd pay for a "real" balcony.
