Default Just off the cb 8-22/8-29

This is a "mini" review. Our group of 8 were on this sailing and just arrived home on Saturday, the 29th. It is with a heavy heart that I sit here at work writing this because I wish I were still on this wonderful cruise. True - we did encounter a little problem in that we never left the RED HOOK pier as planned and didnt make our first port - Rhode Island. Hurricane Bill was approaching and the Captain, in all his infinite wisdom, thought it better that we took refuge in Brooklyn until 5AM Sunday morning. We didnt mind a bit. We come from Staten Island and thought it was a hoot that at 9PM we were in the back of the ship, adults only, Terrace Pool, with NYC as our magnificent skyline, complete with the Brooklyn Bridge and Statue of Liberty. If we got excited, we could only imagine what the people from other places were thinking. There were plenty of tripod cameras being used and in general people were really enjoying the view.
I just finished reading a review from some other poster who I cannot believe was even on the same cruise as us. I'm thinking that some people are just plain hard to please. From the ports to the meals in the main dining rooms, to the staff and the lounge acts, to the shows and the Intl cafe, to the cleaniness of the rooms (and yes, they are small) to the waiting time for elevators, to the Cruise Director and staff, to the photographers and Crown grill.......it was all WONDERFUL. I shall elaborate more in my real review which I will be posting soon enough. I loved this cruise. I wish I was still on the CB. To those folks who are waiting to board her......you are lucky ducks!!

Thank you for the happy review. I did read that one with all the complaints and was a little concerned but in reading the entire thread, with other cruisers on the same cruise, I felt better. We will be on the CB in Oct for the last Canada/New England cruise. It will be our 3rd, Grand 2004 and Crown 2007. We are looking forward to our cruise!

Thanks for the review. We are going 9/12 on the same trip, infact we also live on Staten Island. This is our 25+ cruise and our 6th to Canada but our first on Princess. After reading all the bad revirews of the CB I was very sorry we didn't go on the NCL Dawn which is our usual. You have given me some hope. People on the Princess board don't seem to like this ship.

Hi,

for those going on the CB- check out some of the old roll calls.

I am from the 7/26 sailing....

Noone from our roll call seemed to be unhappy at all with their vacation....

I am so jealous for those going to sail on her soon!!

Have a GREAT TIME!!

That would be just some people on this board. Overall, we had a great time on the CB.

Thanks you for posting your review. The CB is one of our favoerite ships as can be seen from the fact that we have sailed on her four time in the last year and a half.

Don't worry you should have a great cruise. There are a few people that can find little things to complain about, anytime, anywhere, any crusie-line. I would hop back on any cruise on the CB in a heartbeat with no worries.

My family and I were on this cruise and we had a nice time...Only glitch to report was a wait for tables in the main dining room...other than that the trip was great. Enjoy!

Hello

I am glad you had a great cruise. Its not that we are hard to please the service was just awful for us and others we met, from our room steward to our waiter, to the buffet staff, Many have written the same things here on reviews over the past few months...I guess its luck of the draw on who you have serving you.

I am glad you enjoyed the week, we did on some aspects just not the service of the usually great cruise line

You probably weren't on the same cruise - at least not in the same world the other poster was in - It is a theory called "parallel worlds", and sometimes I really believe they do exist.

You know - thats a good question. We arent really wine drinkers and we did see the sushi out in the open at Vines - I just don't know if they charged for it. When we were in the International Cafe - we had to pay extra for the coffee/tea we ordered but the pastries/cookies/sandwiches etc were free. Maybe somebody else will answer you.

Thanks, Jennygirl, for your enthusiastic and happy review. We're sailing for the first time ever in Oct. and I'm getting a good feel of what to expect from the reviews I've read. We're very easy to please, so I'm certain we're going to have a great time. Glad to know your "heavy heart" is because you want to be back. I think I'm already starting to feel that way for the day after we get back.

That sounds wierd, doesn't it?

Default Posted my review

So after work yesterday, I went home and posted my final review of our trip. I imagine it will be on the site soon enough. There is one thing that I left out and that was that near the Neptune Reef they had the Trident Grille which served Hamburgers, Hot Dogs and the most delicious thin crust crunchy pizza. Coming from NY - we were very pleased with that pizza. After one of our excursions we felt like a good old fashioned hot dog and we were thrilled that it was so good. The wait staff behind the grill were funny and acomodating and we chalk it up as another great experience on this ship.
Thats it.....thanks for the nice comments on my mini - hope you enjoy the other one.
