Default Acapulco - River Rafting - anyone been?

I am considering booking the river rafting for the 4 of us. 2 adults a 14 yr old and a 11 yr old. It says class 2 rapids and I am wondering if this will be exiting enough or just a boring slow trip down the river. Has anyone been on this excirsion?

Bravo Rafting The Papagayo River - AC28

Brave class 2 rapids on this adventurous rafting trip through the canyon of the spectacular Papagayo River. In addition to the excitement, you'll see incredible rock formations, cliffs and exotic wildlife. The final "surprise" rapid will leave you breathless. Min Age - 10. All participants must be a strong swimmer.

Did it, loved it. Was quite exciting! Had never done anything like it before. Really fun and fairly challenging. They'll toss you all out in the water at first to "test" your swimming skills and if you can climb back in the raft . Really fun. I don't think you'll be disappointed.

The fact is.. the water level in Rio Papagayo is very low. The water is brown and not very pleasant. Acapulco has been shutting off the water to parts of the city to remove the sediment that acumulates in the collection lines and filters.

I do not want to disrupt tourism, i just want to give you an HONEST picture of what to expect. The boats say BRAVO ... Rio Bravo and Rio Papagayo intersect. Rio Bravo acrually has better water conditions but the company Shotover who also owns Bravo river rafting was forced to move operations to the Papagayo.

There are no spectacular views, no spectacular rapids. There is a nice brown mud puddle.

Interesting, since September is pretty much the end of the rainy season there. Is Acapulco suffering a drought right now. I would think that with normal rainfall, the river would be flowing really well. Do you live in the area? You can be a good help to cruisers who venture down Acapulco way.
