Default Aft on Equinox

We are considering the 10 day med cruise in June and have the option of booking an aft cabin or midship cabin (concierge class). I have heard alot about the aft cabins having a wonderful view but, and excuse me if this is a stupid question, has anyone gotten sick going "backwards"? I get sick if I even look down while in a car, nevermind reading. Cruises have never bothered me at all but I've always been in a cabin on either side. We will have our 10 yr old son with us and I want everything to be super special for him - including the view from the balcony. LOL

We enjoyed aft on the Solstice last Feb. and no sea sickness, looking down or otherwise. I've had problems with this in the past on smaller ships...none here.

IMHO the best aft CC cabins on the Solstice class ships are on the Resort deck (and there are only 2) as they are totally covered. The other aft cabins are only partially covered and do not offer any protection from the elements. We love these cabins! You won't be dissapointed.

I know what you mean about feeling sick going backwards. I try to sit forwards on a train. I've never felt the same in an aft facing cabin on a ship. One thing to say of course is that you will get more motion all the way aft as opposed to midship and that might lead to feeling ill in a different way if you are prone to motion sickness. Personally I love the aft view.

Phil

ps Aside from most of the aft facing balconies being quite open it's also a long way from the elevators, but I guess that's not too much of a problem if you are 10 years old

On a 10 night cruise I could use the extra steps to the elevator!! Maybe they should have me circle around a couple of times before I can get on. LOL
