Default Edventures Revisited

Four years ago we spent a day with Eddie from Edventure tours.
It was a fabulous day.
We went to Tulum and saw the ruins.
Then to Dos Ojos cenote, the beach at Akumal and snorkling in the lagoon there.

We finally made it back to Calica and went with Edventures again.
Eddie has added a few new adventures.
This time we had Gilmer as a guide.
He is personable and we felt really comfortable with him.

First we did the zipline Edventures offers.
There were 8 people in our party and we were the only people in the park.
We did the short zip line first and then the longer one.
They will let you do the zip line as many times as you want.
After the longer one you paddle your own canoe back across the lagoon.
The lagoon is beautiful with water lilies and is surrounded by lovely woods...
Very quiet and unspoiled.
There is also a cenote in which you can swim.
The cenote is beautiful, clear and clean, and there is a bluff that you can jump off into the water if you want.
There is even a lifeguard.
It was lovely.

After that we went to Dos Ojos. There were a few other people there, but not many. The water was cool and refreshing and I enjoyed watching the birds that live in the cave and even saw a few bats.
Then we headed for Akumal and snorkeled in the lagoon until it was time to go see the sea turtles.
We rode in a small boat to see the turtles and the boat ride was fun.
It also allowed us a good view of some of the beautiful houses built along the shore.
When we got to the sea turtle area we immediately saw a sea turtle.
The turtles were grazing on grass growing on the sea floor and seem to have no fear of inept snorklers.
We saw several more turtles and some rays too along with fish and coral.

All too soon it was time to head back to the boat...

We did four different things and any one of them would have been a really fun excursion, but all together it makes for an unforgettable day!

Just want to add for anyone reading that Edventures is awesome! We did them a year and 1/2 ago and hope to do them again this spring.
I put together a movie of our day if anyone wants to see what it is like.

Loved it!
The other one in Playa is Selvatica (ziplining), ALUX (an incredible cave/restaurant) and 5th ave.

Default Ditto all that!

We have been to Calica twice and are going a third time in March. We always book with Ed and Bonni at Edventures. Nicest people in the world, great staff and really cool things to do on the tours. We have also done the cenote at Dos Ojos, Akumal, and the lagoon. Great lunch on the beach also! Highly recommend that if you are in Calica, you spend the day with Edventures, you will want to go back!
