Default View from Balcony on Zuiderdam

Hi folks,

My hubby and I are sailing in May on the Zuiderdam RT Glacier Bay from Vancouver. We've got a hold on stateroom VD4124 on the Upper Promenade deck, and it looks like there's a lifeboat a few rooms over according to the deck plan. Will this block much of the view?

We've never had a balcony room before, and we're celebrating our 10th anniversary, so I want to make sure its good. How much room is on the balcony? just enough for 2 chairs, or is there room for socializing with another couple?

Would appreciate feedback from anyone who's stayed in this room or one like it.

thanks

The lifeboat will block the forward view slightly.

The verandah will be 7.5 ft x 9 ft, with 2 chairs, a footstool, and a small table. Mark that space off on your floor at home and judge for yourself how much room you will have. Four people can fit there, if two are on the balcony footstool and the one from the room.

VD's are really nice cabins because they have nice deep balconies. You got plenty of time to switch to one that is more aft and therefore much less blockage from lifeboats. Happy cruising!

Thumbs up we'll stick with it

Thanks for the feedback. I think we'll stick with the room we've got, as hubby can get seasick and the next available VD is almost at the very back of the ship.
