Default Appropriate Swimwear for Carnival Cruise?

Hi! What is your opinion of what swimwear is acceptable for Carnival cruises? Thanks!

No thongs, except on the feet, that's about it.

No topless deck anymore...though I have read that people have gone to secluded locations and gone topless without a problem.

Is that your opinion of what is acceptable/appropriate?

From what I've seen....ANYTHING Goes...Although, it would be nice if thongs were NOT worn.(As a Courtesy to others.)

Anything goes - really. One cruise we were on (I am a fluffy woman) there was a woman who was 300 pounds plus and she had a thong on and you would never know it, every available piece of fabric was hidden. A gentleman (used lightly) about 75 years old had on a speedo and everyone joked that he was trawling. I do not and most do not have that comfort level but I commend those who do. What would you wear back home and feel comfortable in - that is my criteria. Being larger, I wear a one piece with a coverup. My daughter is 5'1" and 105 pounds (24 yrs) wears a bikini and looks awesome. I am serious when I say anything goes but in a lot of cases shouldn't. Cindy

Whether one has a body for thongs or not I know I appreciate NOT being subject to strangers bums! It is also awkward for parents of small and not so small children.

IMHO thongs are best suited for backyard tanning and more adult oriented venues.

The no thong thing is just my opinion in response to the question.

I don't mind the thongs in the shows, but unfortunately the ones who look good in thongs at the pool are not the ones wearing them. I like to eat on Lido and massive amounts of cellulite is not very appetizing.

This is a funny topic as I have told my story many times....On our 2nd cruise out of Miami there were many Europeans. There was a lady that work a black thong with a very small top. She was a very beautiful woman and all the guys and some ladies heads were turning when she would walk by. We saw her at lunch on the lido and she had put on a shear coverup around her waist....

I thought to myself wow she sure is a confident woman, but then again that probably was much more than what she wears at any pool or beach in Europe.

I think you should wear what you want within reason. As american's we are a very judgemental society so I would take not one but two looks in a mirror before you decided what bathing suit you should wear in "public".

If you are that busy staring at what someone is wearing, then I think you are the one with a problem. Maybe Disney World would be a better vacation for you. People that wear thongs are not breaking a law.

If you are fat, overweight or unsightly the more material the better. Maybe avoid the pool completely!

If you are Brad Pitt or Angela Jolie material you can wear anything you want

Seriously, I never understood those people who wear next to nothing but have nothing to show, or more specifically are OVERFLOWING. Do they have a clue and look in the mirror, do they need a tan, what the hell are they trying to achieve. Could they really be proud of what they are showing

As long as the suit is appropriate for your body size you're good.

If your tummy hangs so far over that I can't tell if you're wearing a suit then your bottom is too small.
