Default Long Beach Parking

I know the terminal in Long Beach has an indoors parking structure. The web site says it's a 5 story parking structure. Is there a specific level for parking that's better than another? What level is the actual terminal on?

It's a free-standing garage, so you have to go back down to the ground level and on a walkway to the terminal building. There is no preferred level to park on, there are stairs and an elevator.

The terminal is on level one, I go up as many levels as I have to to park in the south/west corner. Then you are near the elevators and stairs.

Thanks for the replies. I thought the whole thing was connected. I thought The terminal was on a specific level.

Next question. Do you have to park in the parking structure? Can you park in the parking lot for the Queen Mary? I see there is a section of the parking lot that real close to the terminal.

You can park there it is considered the overflow parking, and for oversized vehicles. Hope this helps

That parking lot is further away from the ship terminal and is not covered. It is suggested that you only park there if your vehicle is oversized.

If you are going on the Paradise, you can always find parking on levels 2 and 3. If you are on the Splendor, then you might have to park up on the higher levels.

I usually park near the elevators, or by the ramps (easier to walk back up and not wait for the elevators) on level 2 for the Paradise and level 4 for the Splendor.

Can you drop off luggage and the spouse before parking? Or do we have to get all the stuff from the parking lot to the terminal. And I guess is missed the cost per day? Brain is not working too well (a little stressed). So if these questions have been answered I apologize.

$12 per day, payable at exit from the garage and they accept cash and major credit cards.

Default Long Beach Parking

Hi there,
Doing a search on your question, it had been previously stated that the charge for parking in Long Beach had increased from $12 to $15 per day. I don't know as I've not parked there but I would prepare for the higher fee.
Enjoy,
Winnie

According to this: http://www.sanpedro.com/spcom/crusshp2.htm

it's still $12.00 per day. I guess I'll find out next month.

Yes, you can drop off the luggage and spouse, there's a well-marked large drop off spot in the bottom floor, and then loop back around and go into the garage and park. The parking used to be $12/day, but I belive it's gone up to $15/day now.

It's $15/day. It sucks. No cheaper options for parking nearby, unless you stay at a hotel.

I've checked on some Cruise & Snooze packages vs parking and hotel rates. It really worked out to be about the same $15/day.

The real bad thing about Long Beach is that if you get there at 9:30a for early checkin and do not leave until 10a on your last day, you will get charged for that.

How is the traffic getting out of the parking garage when the cruise is over? Is it really backed up because of everyone leaving at the same time?

Because it was staggered on the ship it usually isn''t too bad to get out.
When customs was checking everybodies info it was easier to get out of the lot (the only good thing about those customs checks).

We try to be one of the last off the ship. There are two adjoining exits to get out of the lot then you go down the road to another set of booths. Present your receipt there. We usually have more of a wait at the second set of booths because those also takes care of the Catalina traffic.

Have fun on the Paradise! We are going on her again in January.

Don't know if my experience was unique, but getting out of the garage was no issue. BUT, at the end of the terminal lot they only had ONE traffic gate open which created one giant bottleneck. Hopefully they figured it out and open more than one traffic gate now.

A few years ago we had to wait 20-30 minutes to get out of the parking structure. They only had one booth opened, I don't know if it was due to staffing or equipment problems.
