Default Best time to start a roll call?

Hi, when is the best time to start a roll call? I posted our forthcoming cruise on the Grand 2011 on the boards but it has only been viewed twice. Am I just way too early? When should I re-post to gain maximum interest?

If people are interested, they will go and join the roll call. Posting again will not do much good.

I agree with Paul, reposting will have little effect.

It has been my experience that you will not get much activity until the cruise is inside the one year window and closer.

Hi, thanks for the replies. I thought it might be a bit too early.

I started a roll call on the first day that the cruise was offered for last spring's TA on the Ruby. It was slow at first, but if you put post something every few days it will stay current. It will pick up as more people book.

Hi Kilmaspitz.

Some cruises have almost no posts, lots depends on time of year

passenger mix etc.

CC makes up a very small % of folk that cruise.

CC is almost unknown in the UK.

We had a very small group on our Alaska cruise a few weeks ago. We just kept it current. I must say, sometimes small is better as we got together four out of the seven days and our little group was wonderful. Even met one of our cruise critic friends standing in line in front of us, waiting to board the ship. With over 2600 passengers and a cruise critic group of 10, unbelievable.
Last year on Transatlantic, the postings didn't pick up until about 6 months out. The last three months, the group doubled. had about 80 people by the time we cruised. the frequent posters were a group of about 30 the rest were wonderful but didn't post frequently but all participated in our get togethers, private tours etc.
