Thanks for the photo. I enjoyed your NBC site. Looks like you were there during the golden years. I did some years in radio and TV back in the 70s. Things were sure different back then!

Jim, I didn't know you were in radio & TV "back when". My husband was on radio in the early 60's - seems to me he might have said something about the Beatles not going very far. Oooh, like he isn't reminded of that one every once in a while!

Bill - good photo; it's amazing how they handle the patient transfers in rough waters - and in the dark!

Smooth Sailing!

I looked at the rest of your website. My husband was in the 1955 flood you had on your website. He lived in Yuba City and was separated from his family for Christmas. He was very interested when I showed him the pictures.

Default Wonderful

Glad he enjoyed the flood pix, Judy.
I had just started at KPIX-TV and was on a rowboat in Larkspur, Marin County with my camerman rowing down streets.

Nothing like mentioning the word "radio" to bring us geezers out of the woodwork.

Boy, that brought a flashback. I lived in Kentfield at the time and had to row boat up to the school bus stop. Actually, I didn't do the rowing. There were volunteers that picked up all the school kids. Wouldn't want to miss school.

I thought of you, Mr. C., and figured you'd be along in due time. Not many of us around who sat behind those old RCA barrel mics. (The old brown ones.)

We were there, I feel sorry for them they didn't even get started on their cruise. Seas were getting pretty rough by then.
