Default Suggestions Please!!!!

I just received my air documents for our Freedom of the Seas on Oct 25th. Great nonstop 7:00 am flight time going out. The problem is our departure flight is not until 6:00 pm. I called to see it that could be changed and was told no other flights are available??? Any suggestions as to what to do - dont want to sit at the airport all day. I looked at the excursions for Port Carnival and nothing is of interest. Any ideas????

First you need to tell us how you are getting to the airport. If you don't have a car you don't have any options other than a ship excursion.

What airport are you leaving from? That would also help. If it's Orlando, it's a pretty nice airport.

And NEVER say port "Carnival". Bad word. It's Canaveral.

Have breakfast in the MDR and get off the ship last might be a nice way to end the cruise. Although, you would probably get off by 10 a.m. so not too certain what else to do if you are not interested in excursions or hanging around. This might buy you an extra hour or two onboard.

Have fun with whatever you select.

My suggestion is rent a car at the port and go to Cape Canaveral, or go to the beach. If you don't feel comfortable driving around get a day room at the Hyatt IN Orlando airport and spend the day at the pool and such.

My suggestion is to rent a car (loads of one-way rentals available) and enjoy your day. Go to the beach! Go to Ron Jons. Go mini golfing. Go to the Canaveral National Seashore. Drive up or down the coast. Go into Orlando and do some shopping. There's lots to do. Even if you hang out on the ship until you simply must depart (say 10 am), you can do an awful lot before getting to the airport late in the afternoon.

This is a very easy area for driving. From the Port to the Orlando airport it is a straight shot out 528 - with only one turn when you go to the airport. It's really easy to get over to the beach, and there is shopping, parking, change rooms, restaurants, etc. to keep you plenty busy.

If you don't want to rent a car, call cocoa beach shuttle (cbshuttle.com) they will take you anywhere you want to go (Fishlips for late lunch, Ron Jon's to shop) call them when you are ready to go to the airport and they will pick you up. Very reasonable rates, nice friendly drivers and nice air conditioned vehicles. Mention cc and get a 10% discount. If you are flying out of MCO you can spend time shopping (before you go through security). We spent 4 hours there on 9-20-09 and it wasn't too bad.

This happened to us once....we got to the airport, found out there was an earlier flight, paid the small deviation fee, and got home 4 hours earlier....stand-by is a WONDERFUL thing!
Check prices for excursions after the cruise, a hotel room for the day, or the cost of changing to an earlier flight....pick the cheapest!

Thank you all for your suggestions. I will call the Hyatt and see what the pricing is for a day rate.
