Default Zaandam ends Alaska season.

From the Ketchikan Daily News

SEASON OVER —
The cruise ship ended on a rainy note for visitors traveling on the cruise ship Zaandam, Ketchikan's last ship of 2009, which pulled away from the downtown dock shortly after 1 p.m. Wednesday.

It will be quiet in the Alaskan ports now.

I loved visiting Alaska for the first time and look forward to going back again some day.

Zaandam will be plying the waters of the Pacific North West for a few days yet. She has 3 more scheduled calls into Victoria, arriving later today from Ketchikan enroute to Seattle. Then she returns to Victoria on Sat Oct 3 and again Mon Oct 5 before departing for San Diego. Then she picks up Kakalina & heads for Hawaii.

It will be interesting to see what next season looks like. (Fewer ships, head tax issue, etc.)

I know DH will be relieved to hear this -- no chance of me booking us on another Alaska cruise this year

I agree with you 100% Jim. Will be looking for "news" on the head tax. Gail
