Default !!!WOW!!! Carnival Glory 09/26-10/03/09 !!!WOW!!!

Hello everyone! Just finished this totally awesome cruise! I didn't prepare a review, but feel that I MUST make a few acknowledgements. (This was our sixth cruise, all on Carnival).

Embarkation staff: Fabulous and super friendly as always, even got us onboard ahead of schedule (around 11:25 am).

Dining Room waitstaff: Hanjnalka and Joel totally exceeded our expectations! Very friendly with quick and professional service.

Bar Waiter: I Gede (G-man) totally exceeded our expectations. I think this guy even smiles in his sleep! Always put forth an extra effort.

Stateroom Steward: Edi always fulfilled our special requests. Room was kept immaculate. Very friendly and personable. Exceeded our expectations.

Comedy Club: Josh did an unbelievable job running this venue. We had never thought we would like a stand up comedian/comedy club until now!!! We voiced our opinion that this should be introduced to every Carnival ship.

Cinna-Bar (Piano Bar): Russell is a very talented and gifted performer. We had never wanted to spend time onboard in a Piano Bar until this cruise.

Old Glory Live Entertainment: "Two for You" in an amazing duet! Their peformances were absolutely outstanding.

Magician: Cameron was excellent and very entertaining! He even held a small "instructional" demonstration!

Photographers: Were friendly, professional and not pushy, and willing to accept a polite "No, thank you" to their requests. The photos we did have taken were excellent.

General Ship Staff: Always smiling, friendly, and quick with a greeting. Everyone exceeded our expectations.

Food: Totally delicious, whatever the restaurant!

Amber Palace and other Entertainment: Excellent as always! What else can I say.

Condition of Glory: In very good shape, in my opinion, no complaints. Same with the stateroom.

Debarkation Staff: Excellent and very friendly, as always.

I hope I haven't forgotten anyone/anything. If so, I will repost later. A bit difficult to prepare this post, as the room is still moving!

As soon as the room stops moving, I'll start preparing the roughly 1300 pictures we took. But please, give me a few days. Thanks!

I'm SOOOOOOOO happy to read this. I will be sailing on the Glory this coming saturday. It's pretty much my first cruise (the first one was on Carnival 19 years ago, so I don't count this).

It's hard to read some of the reviews because people always have bad things to say sometimes so it's nice to hear soemthing good for a change.

Can I ask what cabin you had? What about the pools? I heard they were VERY tiny.

You are right about G-Man. He was also our waiter in the Dining Room. Some of the staff should take lessons from this guy, he was great!

Hey! You were about two tables behind me! We were at table #439, a table for two.

We were in cabin #1332, a very nice cabin! The pools are average cruise ship size, obviously smaller than land based pools. None of them were ever crowded that I saw.

Sail-a-Way: Well, the muster drill was late getting started, so...sail-a-way started about 15 minutes before the muster drill ended. This could happen to any ship, any sailing.

Ports: Nassau, 4th time there, nuff said. We did get off the ship and walk around for about an hour, bought a few trinkets.

St. Thomas: We booked the shopping/Megan's Beach excursion through Carnival last spring. The shopping was as to be expected for a tourist destination. Ummm, Megan's Beach...not at all what we expected from reviews and photos. We must be blessed with exceptionally beautiful beaches here in Florida, because Megan's Beach was only on par with what we have at home, In My Opinion. The ride to the other side of the island was quite an adventure! There was some good, and not so goodn scenery along the way.

St. Martin/St. Maarten: !!!WOW!!! An absoultely incredible and beautiful island! We booked an independant tour with Bernard's Tours. !!!WOW!!! Joe was our driver and did an outstanding job! Our group first did some shopping, then to Maho Beach. Unfortunately, no air traffic whilst we were there. Then is was off to Orient Beach. Absolutely mind-blowingly beautiful! Pure white sands with crystal clear water. We had previously arranged to stay at the beach while the rest of the group continued the tour. As promised, Joe was back at Orient Beach just before our requested pick up time of 3:00 pm. As far as Orient Beach, what happens in St. Martin stays in St. Martin!

Gads, forgot to mention the Legends show the last night. Another one of those "Oh, I'll never like that!" kind of thing. Well, it was an excellent and hilarious show! I really have respect for those normal folks, just like you or I, that get up on stage in costume and perform! Everyone was very talented!

The pools weren't that tiny to me. Sometimes they were a little crowded but not bad. I also didn't have a problem with the hot tubs like people said. Yes there were kids in it but usually when someone old like me (I'm 32) got in they left.

I'm so excited! We're taking Glory in December and I've felt a little let-down at some of the posts from other folks, so it's good to read such exceptional details! Thanks for sharing!

Sounds like you had a great cruise!

The new Comedy Club deal is really cool...I hope they roll that out
on all the ships

Did they require "tickets' or have they just made it like regular shows?
which lounge was it in?

any/all info on the "Comedy Club" would be most appreciated..thanks

We sail on her in 6 1/2 weeks

You said you were on at 11:25? What time did you arrive at the port?

The Glory just didn't do it for me. I wasn't very impressed with the ship or decor. It was probably my least favorite besides the Celebration..

We arrived at the port at 10:30 am. By the time we got unloaded, parked, and in line, it was around 10:45 am. We were checked in and patiently waiting at 11:00 am.

Thanks for the review and the pictures. We are sailing on her in April. I know that she is getting some upgrades before then like laser tag and movie screen while in drydock but it is nice to hear that the staff is so wonderful as well.

I'm so happy to hear that you loved the cruise and the cabin as great. I will be on the Upper deck with a balcony cabin.
