Default Queen Victoria deck 1 inside cabins.

We will shortly be sailing for the first time on Queen Victoria. We have booked a deluxe inside cabin, midships on deck 1. Has anyone stayed on this deck and is it a good location ?

We haven't stayed in these cabins but I did remark to my husband on the day we disembarked how spacious they looked. You can't help but have a peek at all the different cabins when you know they are unoccupied can you. I would imagine that they must be a pretty good position being so much lower down, you only have to consider that the restaurant is on deck 3 to realise that the designers put them there for a very good reason.
Happy cruising.

Default Queen Victoria Deck one Inside Cabins

We will also be sailing on Queen Victoria for the first time, and have also booked the de-luxe inside cabins on deck one. We wonder if there will be any vibration this low down in the ship, also will it be noisy? any info will be appreciated.

Thank you for your reply diamond-queen, I know what you mean about having a peep in the different cabins, we had great fun doing this on QE2 ....seeing what we were missing out on !

The difference on the QE2 was that no two cabins were the same ! I could never understand how the agents would say book early to ensure you get your favourite cabin when in reality if you had sailed on her every year you would only have stayed in 40 cabins and probably still didn't know your favourite !!

Thumbs up

We had 14 nights in just one of these cabins over the summer - cabin 1064, to be precise. This is slightly forward of midships.

We thought the cabin was great - very spacious and pretty stable. There was no vibration to speak of at all, and no machinery noise either. We were well located for the pursers desk, and actually even better for the theatre - if we walked forward to the end of the corridor we'd emerge at the front of the stalls!

The only (very) slight annoyance was that we would hear some of the music from the Queens Room above, however to be fair we were fairly early to bed and it was generally over and done with by midnight. Not anything to be worried about at all.

She's a lovely ship, we had a great time on board.

Thank you for your reply, that all sounds very positive. When I booked this cruise, as usual I was asked, if offered would I except an upgrade, I said yes (always hopeful) but after reading your comments I am now thinking that I should phone Cunard to say that I would like to stay where we are. We could get an upgrade to an outside cabin but not in such a good location.Any thought's .

I'm not sure if location is much of an issue - unless you're very sensitive to movement of the ship, in which case a fore or aft cabin higher up might be less attractive than your current location. In terms of noise or vibration, you might get some vibration near the stern - there certainly was in the Britannia dining room.

There we outside cabins right outside our door on deck 1, though, you might end up in one of these!

Hi,
I've booked 1068 for November. I was in an A5 in April and wasn't keen on the balcony with my two year old so kept it shut the whole time.
The D2s are the same size as the A5s INCLUDING the balcony space.
Glenn.
