Default Promenade area cabins... first time booking one with lots of questions

This is the first time I'm booking a Promenade cabin on a Freedom class ship (actually it's the Liberty). I'm a little concerned since I've heard complaints of noise from some Promanade cabins close to the pub area.

I'm thinking of booking a promanade cabin right on top of the "Get out there"... (I think it's a shop ) is it?

Should I be concerned about noise? could anyone help and tell me your experiences with Promenade cabins? should I book right in the middle of the Promenade or more towards the back/front? any answers will be truely appreciated.

Happy cruising everyone!

I have had many PR cabins and the only one that I ever heard noise from was on the Voyager of the Seas (our 1st PR cabin) on Deck 6 and it was right above the Pig n Whistle. I just got off the Liberty and had a PR cabin Deck 6 right above the purser's desk but across from where Boleros is down on Deck 5. I could hear some music, but it was not bad at all.

You are safe in picking a PR cabin. I love them. They are a little small on the Liberty, but the window seating helps with a little extra room. Have fun on the Liberty.

Default PR cabin

We have had Promenade on various ships, Voyager,Mariner,Adventure and just off the Independence. We always go for deck 9 as the windows lean out slightly and you can see more. This year we were directly over the pub and did not hear a thing. Deck 6 is directly above the prom deck and consequently there will be more noise but it will be muted.
The only time there is a little noise is when they have a parade so book with confidence but try to get deck 9.
Also for further bookings try to pick a cabin that is situated on a deck that is between cabin decks and not under one of the open decks as the noise from people walking.running or moving the deck furniture above your cabin can be infuriating.

I got off the Navigator this morning and had a PR cabin on Deck 8 right above the Logo store.. Didn't hear much noise apart from obviously the dancing in the street and parade's etc. Only problem I found was I didn't have any natural light. If I woke up in the night I would have no idea what the time was unless I checked. Wasn't keen on it. Great room though and loved looking on the promenade. Don't know if I'd cope without any window at all though. ( and that isn't being snobby)

Both of the cruises I've been on with RCCL (AOS and IOS) were in PR staterooms on floor 8. The highest floor that offers PR rooms is floor 8 (not 9 like stated above) and they are really great rooms! Actually stayed in 8283 on both ships and loved the location. The bowing out of the floor 8 windows does offer the feeling of more room.

Upgrading to a hump junior suite and a hump balcony on my upcoming cruises, I'll miss my PR, but don't think I'll miss them too much to care

We were on the Liberty a few weeks ago. We were on deck 6 right between the Champagne bar and the Book Nook. We could definitely hear the music from Boleros every night. I'm a light sleeper and I could hear it, but we were usually so exhausted, I feel asleep even when I could hear the music! The Get Out there shop area is probably a little bit better than where we were. I would probably go up to deck 8 if I had it to do over again... but if my only choice was on deck 6, I would rebook our same cabins. Have fun.

This is the third thread I am posting this on so if you read it before, sorry. We are on deck 6 across from the cafe and love the nearly eye level view. No noise whatsoever.

I posted this on another thread but here are a couple of pictures. We had booked the same cabin on the Explorer, the Mariner and the Voyager because we enjoy people watching so much. It is the room on the lowest deck that has Promenade views from the bay window and is directly opposite the Cafe Promenade. No noise except from the parade and from this low point of view you don't look only onto the top of peoples heads. I am attaching a couple of pictures. You can see the bridge in one shot.

Ottmar, Great pics! Do you remember what your cabin number was, or the approximate location among the Promenade cabins that you had this view?
