Default What equipment is available in the gym (Elation)?

I've been doing well at my weight-loss efforts these days, and we're cruising November 30 on the Elation. I was wondering what kind of equipment is available in the gym. I have never once used the gym on either of the 4 cruises I've been on, so I have no idea.

If anyone has pictures, that would be even better!

Thanks!

Bikes both upright & recumbent, elliptical machines, treadmills, stair climbers, free weights and all those Nautilas weight machines you have at the gyms (like 24 Hour Fitness). I don't recall any rowing machines or ab crunchers. They also have yoga balls (the big ones you can do crunches and push-ups on), and there are spinning, yoga and Pilate classes ($10 ea). The gym is quite decked out, you won't be disappointed. If it helps to know this, I just returned from a week at sea (also in weight loss mode), and came home 2 pounds lighter than I left. I hit the gym for 45 minutes each day and took those blasted stairs exclusively. I wore a pedometer the entire time (even on formal nights).

You'll do great!

Thanks so much. My machine of choice is the elliptical, but I do like to do a circuit including that, the bike, and a finish on the treadmill.

Congrats on coming through 2lbs lighter!

You'll be fine - just pick when you workout. It is crowded first thing in the morning when they open up. My DH learned that while the doors are closed, they are not locked and you can get a head start on everyone else if you are an early riser.

I was usually in the gym by 9 and I never had a wait on any machine. The view is amazing with floor to ceiling windows. The first time I was on a treadmill at sea (years ago) I felt a bit dizzy with watching the ocean, so I started focusing on the machine and then was fine. Now I can watch the ocean just fine.

Wear gym shorts and a T-shirt or sports bra as it gets very hot in the gym. Grab a towel and have a bottle of water with you, it will save you from stopping and getting those items. I do the treadmill for 60 minutes or 3 miles whichever comes first, and stairs on the ship. Sometimes I walk on the upper deck when it's cool outside.
