Default Kids Club...are the kids supervised when swimming?

I see that it says no life guard, but is there supervision? I am not comfortable with letting my 8 & 10 year olds go swimming without anyone to watch them. I may have to put no to swimming on their paperwork, but wanted opinions from those who have gone before. Thanks!

My son is 7 yo and they never took him swimming... in fact i never saw that activity on the Camp caper. They did mini-golf, wiii, "water balloon fight", drawings, etc...

Mine have never actually went swimming either. The older kids have had water balloon fights on deck during the late night party but that's it. I know they were supposed to play around the kids pool area on their first cruise but the pool was netted and closed that night.

My son did go swimming with them when he was 9. They had an activity called "swimming under the stars". They had the pool to themselves.ie no one from outside camp carnival was in the pool. Even though he is a very strong swimmer, being in competitive swimming at home, we sat on some chairs on the Lido deck and watched from far away.

If you don't want your child to swim don't bring them for that activity. It is not like a daycare where they will have another activity planned .

I've never seen swimming on a club activity.

When we were on Miracle in July the 9-11s had one pool party - second sea day, 7-7:45 p.m. The Camp Carnival counselors supervised.

We were on the Imagination in August and three counselors watched what was going on the whole time...

Swimming under the stars was an activity in the 9-11 age group. DD reports that there were 2 counselors there with them, and about 6 kids including herself.

There is a separate check box on the camp registration form for if you want them to go swimming with camp (along with the check box for whether you want them to be able to sign themselves in and out). If you don't check it, your kids can't go swimming with camp.

I also saw an older age group doing the same thing a different night, also with supervision.

Don't worry about that...I will be spending plenty of time with my kids(in and out of the pools). But if they choose to go to camp, it is my responsibility to make sure they are safe at ALL times!!! This was not a question of how I should handle my kids on the ship, it was about safety when they are not with me.
