Default mexican riviera-- mazatlan-cliff divers??

Hi-- does anyone have any info on the cliff divers?
And what other hi-lites would you suggest?
We normally hire a private driver just so we are not
herded into a small van with 15 people in it,, no what I mean?LOL
thanks Donnakg

The cliff divers in Mazatlan are nothing like those in Acapulco. In Mazatlan they basically dive off a tall free standing rock. It is fun none-the-less.

Grab you a private driver and have them give you a trip around. The old-town area is interesting, check out the church/cathedral. Have the driver take you by the fresh fish market; slightly odoriferous, but worth seeing.

The Golden-Zone is the the tourist area; hotels, restaurants, para-sailing and the like.

I guess I prefer the old-town/downtown area the most.

We saw the cliff divers and I probably wouldn't recommend it. The diving was fine but there were a bunch of VERY aggressive vendors who really spoiled it for me. I just could not get them to leave me alone. Regardless, it's a very short thing so if you are out and about anyway, it might be worth stopping since it won't take long. I surely wouldn't dive off that rock! LOL

Well, we did the divers in December and enjoyed it. Not the scale of Acapulco but fun none the less. The vendors are there but we didnt have a problem is we said no thanks. When are you going? Google Mazatlan Frank and see if he is available for a city tour. Excellent, excellent tour guide. If he isnt availabile he will most likely recommend a very reputable alternative for you.

Another vote for Mazatlan Frank! I did a tour with him a few years back..he was great. Took us to have a nice local lunch on the beach, shopping, to see a beautiful old church, a mexican bakery, etc. Great day. Really wouldn't want to do Mazatlan on my own. Really has an industrial feel to it. Let someone show you around...just my advise..good luck..
