Smile Platinum Elite Entrance/Lounge at Red Hook

We have never sailed from Red Hook and are Platinum level (after this cruise we will be Elite, woo hoo!). Does Red Hook have a special entrance and lounge/waiting area like some of the other piers do? Thanks.

Yes, they have a waiting area and VIP lines for check-in as well.

There will be people to direct you to the correct line and the lounge.

Great. We'll look forward to that. Now if we can only stop the rainy forecast for Saturday.....

The lounge is certainly nothing fancy. It's basically a plain room with chairs but they do serve juice, coffee etc. You will be first to board and if you are a first time Elite you will love the perks. Have fun !

Sounds just like the room at Ft. Lauderdale. I was just hoping there would be a separate entrance so that we wouldn't have to wait in a long line just to get into the terminal.

We'll have to wait until after completion of this cruise to enjoy the Elite perks, as this will be our 15th Princess cruise.

No special entrance just the usual "priority" or " preferred" boarding line down by the lounge. By the way, the minute we walked into the "Elite" lounge we knew we would not get an invitation to the "most traveled passenger" luncheon which they hold on 10 day or longer cruises. The lounge was packed !

We arrived at the Red Hook,Bklyn,NY Pier about 1PM 3 weeks ago for the NE/Canada Cruise and were directed where to go as Elite Members. There were no lines. Just went up to the desk and boarded thru this special area. Nobody was there. No Juice or Coffee in the waiting room. We were happy just to get on and into our stateroom in less than 30 minutes.

We were also told there would be some type of refreshment in the lounge as well but all there was was a vending machine. After trying to figure out how to get a free soda from it, I finally decided to put my 75 cents in. Guess what? It ate my money.

The rest of the trip on the Caribbean Princes was great.

Access is through the main terminal and there is no special entrance.
Its a nice perk.
