It's hard to believe fridays weather forcast. I have sailed numerous times, but never in weather like that. They are calling for a northeaster. We better remember our seasickness pills.... Lol the suitcases are packed with winter clothes which makes it hard to fit everything inside.
Anyone else sailing friday oct16 aboard the constellation. Also does anyone know if you are in a covered area all the time??? I heard they take you by bus after you check in. Happy packing to all Ellen

I too left for a cruise once during the winter and there was HUGE storm out to sea-18' waves. It didn't bother me a bit....no sea sickness i was JUST GLAD i was on vacation! Turns out it was an NCL cruise-not fantastic but better than being home I suppose.
Have a great trip-don't let the weather bring you down!

You'll be sailing from Cape Liberty Cruise Port, Bayonne? If so, the luggage drop off area, terminal, and shuttle bus area are all covered. The only exposed area is when you get off the shuttle at the ship to walk up the gang way.

My mother is on the Connie 13 nighter and will be desembarking as you board. Fortunately, she is an excellent sailor, but I'm hoping that these last few days were relatively calm.
We were on the Connie for a T/A that had such strong winds, the glass in the card room blew out and had to be replaced. The good news is, we never missed a food opportunity. The Connie is a pretty solid ship; you should be just fine. When you board, go right to guest services and ask for the Meclizine. They will give you the packages; open them up take a pill and forget about the rest. Just don't forget to pack your thermal underwear. ![]() Have a wonderful cruise.

I can't wait to get on the ship. This is the third straight year we are doing New England/Canada on Constellation out of Bayonne. The area where you drop your luggage off is covered. If you are driving, then you have to go park the car and take the shuttle back to the same area where you dropped your luggage off. The parking lot is all open. Then you go check in and wait for another shuttle to take you to the ship. I'm more worried about the traffic I-95 over the GW to the Jersey Turnpike than the cruise ship. I just wish I still wasn't stuck at work. So much packing, so little time.
