Has anyone been to Aroma Spa in Mazatlan? What was your experience? Thanks in advance!

Was there 2 weeks ago today. Thoroughly enjoyed a 2 1/2 hour massage for under $40! Now don't think this is some high style chic "spa"...it's not. It's a clean, and down to earth, friendly place to get an awesome massage & possibly other treatments. My friend got an hour facial and 1 1/2 hour massage, also under $40 & loved both! They use oils and will basically wash you off after. Really lovely. There are fans in all of the rooms and it is very quiet and serene with some quiet ambient music playing. I plan on going every time I hit Mazatlan.

Ask if you have other questions about it.

Default how did you book it?

Was it via carnival or a private tour or just a ride a taxi there?

We're going to be there on November 5 for a 2-hour massage -- I'll give you a report when we return!

According to my emails back and for with Knute, the attendent who handled our booking, it's best to take a cab to the spa -- the cab drivers will know it.

Default Thanks for the response! Another question...

There's a group of us going to Aroma Spa and some are having more treatments done than others. What is the area around Aroma Spa like? Are there restaurants and shops around?

We booked via the internet at their website (I cannot provide a link due to the rules just google aromaspa mazatlan), not through Carnival. It was a quick 10 minute taxi ride, which cost us $3 a person to get to (there were 3 of us). When you're finished, if there isn't a taxi dropping someone off and ready to take you back to the ship, Ana (receptionist) will call one for you and it'll be there within minutes. They have a brisk business and many crew members and passengers go there.

Not too much in the immediate area (shops and the like) - it's very European looking (narrow streets, 2 and 3 story buildings) - we thought we would hang around after, but we were "noodles" after these amazing treatments so just headed back to the ship . There are 3 chairs out front you could relax in for a short while, but you might want to meet the others back at the ship.

Default Going in December

Emailed them in recent weeks and got a prompt reply. They have a 30 min free massage coupon on the website. We booked 1 hour massages (now 1.5 h with the coupon). Coupons actually arrived by mail from Bakersfield California (go figure).

There is the Plaza Machado a block away with a few places to eat and shop also Olas Atlas about 4 min walk with great ocean views but a little more pricey than the places at the Plaza

My brother e:mailed the spa from his e:mail account with aol and he got a response today. I never got a response, maybe it went into my spam but it's kind of weird because I have an eartlink e:mail and so does Knute. Anyway we are all booked for Jan 5th for a full day of pampering. FYI They take Spa Finder gift cards which I can purchase at my local Costco
