We've always gotten in line at 11:00, sat in the waiting area and were on board by 11:30-11:45 at the latest.

Been home about a week now from our b2b on the Sapphire and boarding on our 1st week was before 11:30 and the second week seemed to be just after 11 a.m.

Have fun!

The cruise docs always say not to arrive until after 1pm. We ignore that and get there an hour or two before that.

Perhaps there was something going on that was backing up letting cars through at that time on that day.

Sometimes, if there is more than one Princess ship in port, they will enforce the "do not arrive before ..." rule. Especially if the ships are late in the disembarkation process. We have been turned away at the gate and told to return later. I was so surprised as this had never happened to us in many cruises out of San Pedro. Normally you can arrive around 11am, park and go right into the terminal.

We have not had the experience of parking a car at the World Cruise Center as we shuttle from hotel to terminal and with that usually arrive between 11 and 11:30 and are the ship by noon latest.

Part of the time difference you're seeing is due to whether you have priority boarding or not. If you do, you'll usually be on the ship about 15 mins. prior to the rest of the herd.

Enjoy your cruise!

Default boarding time in San Pedro

We just got off the Sapphire yesterday. We got to the port about 9:45 am, and were on the ship, in the Horizon Court, eating lunch at 11:30. Disembarkation was also a breeze.

A few years ago we got there at 12:15 and were on the ship with carryons unpacked in an hour. And we're Gold status so we didn't get any priority. The only reason we weren't there earlier was because the car service picking us up went to the wrong address (mapquest has our location wrong) and then on the road, we hit traffic on the 405.

Usually when my hubby is driving, it's hard for us not to leave at 9:30. For sure, we would be far too early.
