Default Wow,you bunch of babies.

I went in the reveiws to see how this ship Costa fortuna is and i can't belive all the peolpe crying about the little stuff that happend to them and how mad it made them.
Like the guy who asked for a pitcher of water and got a glass.
And the waiter that did not say hi to him and tell him his name.
The lady that got off the boat and it was raining, thats not Costa's fault you dummy.
The couple that did'nt get a fruit basket in the room, big deal go get it yourself.
The man that had to wait in line longer than he wanted,SO WHAT on travel days,on and off the ship or plane be expected to wait and wait, make fun with it don't get mad, some of the funest times my family and i have are in lines waiting, your on a trip deal with it.
One lady didn't like the comedian on the ship,SO WHAT then don't go to see him next time, the comedian is not what you planed your cruise around is it,sitting next to you is worse thing that could happend to me.
People, try to stick with important issues, not all this little crap that happends in our every day lives..I want to know if the thing floats or not?

Real Person, welcome to Cruise Critic and the Costa forum. For your debut you surely will create waves with all the complainers, and we've got a bunch (and some are actually ligitimate!). I'm surprised Blu*Donau hasn't commented yet. The posters on the forum seem to be divided between those who love Costa and those who hate it, maybe 30%-30% with the remaining 40% posting their experiences and impressions with specific comments on important issues both pro and con. Now that you've made your point we need to wait for the complainers to log in. Can't wait!

HI Capricruiser,
I have posted my thoughts about "these" types of passengers in previous posts - remember American Bubble.

I'll reserve judgement about "Real Person" for now. This is his first post but seams to know his way around looking at reviews etc.

Either he is:

a. For real and will continue to post.
b. Is a regular CC contributor and has added a new ID to stir things up (great I'll love it)
c. Is like a lot of complainers 1 message then away.

Ron
PS So you missed me,

Yes, i see some issues people had that would make me mad,i was looking for them and ran across all the little stuff on here.
I guess i'm in the mind frame of teaching my children to appreciate the things we have and going on a crusie is fun not a bunch of expectations.
Maybe when i get to be an old man and the only thing left to do is complain, this will be where i can visit and tell you guy's all the complaining that i did on my cruise.Like the guy that did'nt like the color of the towels.

Real Person,
Welcome, now that you have acheive your second post.

There are a bunch of whiners, who complain about the least thing. I wonder what they do at home?

If you have any questions about Costa (either good or bad) just ask. You will probably get 10 answers, 2 being very helpful and 8 complain (i.e. I ordered a double bed but got 2 singles, hell think back to your teens when all you had was the back of the car :+} ).

Welcome to cc, Realperson. Our attitude is that there are no bad cruises. Just bad attitudes. Some things may not go smoothly, but hey I am not cooking, making the beds or cleaning-YEAH! We read many horrible reviews of NCL Star for months before we cruised and we had no issues-just fun.

Cruising compainers includes ME.After 40 odd cruises with everything from Cunard down to unkown companies( to US passengers anyway) I reserve the right to moan and bitch about the lack of service /politeness I receive from cruise staff. I was brought up to be polite TO EVERYBODY, I say Thank You to cruise staff, possibly too often.I expect certain standards to be met. On our recent trip, we had a table for 2,as Iam deaf it is easier that way, at no time during our 13 nights aboard was our table fully laid.No knives-no condiments-no bread rolls etc.Our waiters were more inclined to fawn over a multiplace table with 10 Australians(Possible tips??).Or Maitre D who contunuously stuck his posterior in my wifes face , bending down to an adjacent table, I did not complain, although I feel it is my perogative to do so. Minor iritants I can overlook but bad manners from crew or passengers and sloppy service I do not like. I did not complain on board as it is a waste of time, the Costa mantra is "I will see to it " but no action is ever taken.
I await Blu*Donau reposte, I even may be accused of hypocrisy by some other posters,.

Brian,

Don't know why you singled me out! But here goes.

For me there are professional complainers, always trying to get an upgrade, on on-board credit or refund.

Then there are passengers with genuine greivences (either big or small). My big ones are the two court cases that we have bought against Costa, my small or could be big complaints is the Costa Customer service both on and off the ship. There are two things that are entirely free to everyone (be they rich or poor) on this earth and they are courtesy and good manners. I always believe that if I get bad service I will tell the person and their superior, not to get the person in trouble but so that they can improve and in the long run line their pockets better.

Brian, you tell it the way you see it. If you were a real professional whiner you wouldn't keep going back to Costa - you must be a sucker for punishment. Also you help other members with advice (that includes me - when you so kindly copied and posted to me information about your Indian Ocean cruise).

Ron

Ron, You . like me, sound like a seasoned cruiser and not a professional whiner, but a realist. My main bitch against cruise companies is their persistant glorification of what that are not, customer orientated.Their only brief is to obtain as much of our money as possible for minimum return. Must "onboard complaints" are greeted with "Ican do nothing without head offices approval".For crew member who is efficient there are 3-4 who appear not to be so. The overall level of courtesy and politeness has dropped, saying "Have a nice day" does not cut it for me.Costa get my business because they go where other lines do not and I know what to expect. This does not prevent me venting my spleen when required when I get poor service. As I said my manners may not be the best but I try to be polite to everyone I meet whether they be the Captain or the galley "slave" but to be constantly ignored by personages whose job it is to be "polite" gets up my nose.I do not require subserviance just aknowledgement that "we " are there.During our visits to the dining room there were waiters who where "perfect" there were others who were totally condescending, but this is the way of the world now.Iam sure that my next rip will through up some whinges but I will just accept them and get on moaning to the beloved "It was never like this in the good old days"

Could be worse, like the Celebrity posters who all love everything all the time and attack people who dare to complain.

Hey Real Person,
I wish you would come over to the River Cruise forum. We really have some whiners and complainers over there that could use some straight talk.I so agree with you. My goodness,we are able to travel. Many people can't pay their mortgage.

no sure how true it is but a very good friend of mine who is a TA told me that those who complain are people who work for other lines and have no clue what they r talking about. people should just enjoy and stop reading. like I once said how many times have you gone out to eat and did not like the food but you went back numerous times. so it could not be that bad.

one of the "joys" of complaining is to see the receipiant "wriggle".Our Jakarta tour was a total cockup, so we spoke to the Tours Manager.A nice young lady who offered all of the usual platitudes i.e New to the area-New local tour company-3rd world place not ready for tourism-Not enough Costa bodies to assisti local guides etc etc.At the end of the meeting we were all laughing and joking and it ended in smiles all round. My point had been made, but Iam sure the next bunch of cruisers would receive the same run around. I "enjoy" these little "fracas" with cruise people as they can then "hopefully" improve their service in the future.

Just to say after 15 Costa cruises I have had to complain just twice, one minor the other major.

Both times Costa did reply and in one case gave us a free cruise.

All cruises are what we make it.
