Default Queen Victoria Deck 1 cabins

We have been 'Upgraded' to a deck 1 C1 Oceanview cabin for our trip in December. We had previously chosen some nice cabins on deck 4. Now we are lower and under the Queens Room. Does anyone know how noisy it might be? What is under deck 1?

Sometimes I don't see how they can say it is an upgrade!

Presumably you have been upgraded from inside or obstructed view, to a clear view.

That sounds a clear upgrade.

If you don't want to be upgraded, then you should say so when making a booking.

The Queen's Room is not noted for much after midnight, so can't see that as an issue.

I always say no upgrade but I don't think the TA noted that! I like to know what is above and below my cabin after 2 noisy nights under a bar on another ship. Dont mind obstructed view-it will be dark most of the time when we go in December.

In which case it is for the TA to sort out.

The oars.

Seriously, it is the area you are not to enter, even if invited by a member of the ship's crew.

Handy for storing the ice cream, Roscoe!

Always assuming there are no other occupants

We were in an Inside under the Queens Room, there was some 'bleed' of noise but it was not hugely obtrusive and it did pretty much stop at midnight. I reckon we were probably directly underneath the stage, so it was as noisy at you're going to get. An ocean view room will be off to one side, so should be quieter.

I have tried to refuse my upgrade but TA can't do anything as our old cabins have already been sold. I am sure we will be fine on deck 1. We will just make sure to be out partying late! It is near Christmas after all.

We have cabins 1050 and 1055. There are still a few decks below us above the waterline but would be interested to know what is underneath.

Deck 1 will be handy for afternoon tea in the Queens Room. Yum Yum

Of course, deck one isnt the last deck above the waterline, there is one crew accomadation deck below (a), with portholes and another few decks besides including the engineering and workshops etc, (b thru d)

cabin 1055 has Officer cabins directly below and of course the seating area of the Queens Arcade above it, all carpeted and soundproofed of course....cabin 1050 has what looks like a serving area between the crew galley and crew mess. Dont worry, miles away from the "mortuary cell"....so those icecream runs will have to be a little quicker....

Above 1050 of course is the other side of the Queens Room and the raised seating area.

The floors on these decks have extra soundproofing....

thanks for the opportunity to look them up...I love looking at these, really interesting, its incredible the details including the wiring and plumbing that has gone into the ship....

I had a C1 on a recent cruise to Norway - wonderful big picture window. Better than inside or obstructed. Noise? What noise? Very convenient for lobby, offices, computer room etc. I loved it. I had had a balcony on the World Cruise and it was wonderful, but I didn't use it all that much.
