We sailed the Freedom last month (LOVED IT!) and are planning an Oasis cruise next year. My 11 year old loved the kid's club and the activities they had on the Freedom. Next year, she will be 12 when we cruise, but I know that she will not be ready for the teen clubs. She is very smart, but is just younger emotionally. She gets along best with kids younger than herself.
Will Royal Caribbean allow her to be with the 11 year olds in the kid's club next year when she is 12? Has anyone here had a child allowed to move back with younger kids?

I believe they are pretty strict about the ages. I don't think I'd want my little ones hanging out with teenagers.

We were on the Mariner and all my sons friends were still 8. My son turned 9 while on the cruise. They allowed my 9 yr old to drop to the 8 yr old group for the whole week. They were very accommodating about this.
I am certain that if you talk to the crew, they will do anything to make you and your child feel comfortable and special all week. RCI does it up right!

You should have no problem getting your child into the younger group. My son was in the same situation and I asked if he could go with the younger group, they said no problem. I didn't have to give a reason just asked.

I would not necessarily want my 4 yr old hanging out with 14 yr olds either, but this is not the case in this instance. Last edited by Rala; October 22nd, 2009 at 11:11 AM. |

Could someone please tell me the age groups? We will be travelling with a 12 yr, 11 yr, and a 9 yr. Thank you!

often the activities are combined so just take her to those activities. I really don't think you will find it a problem to switch her age group.

For your kids they will officially be split between the 9 - 11 group and the 12 - 14 group (which has a lot of freedom on most of the ships).
