Default When will RCCL have a seven night cruise to Bermuda?

The Empress used to do the 7 nighter. Everything lately has been 5 nighters. Any news on when we'll see 7 nights Bermuda cruise again?

Hi,
Not sure if this helps you, but Celebrity will be offering 7 night Bermuda cruises on the Summit beginning in May 2010.

I would love to see one out of Florida. Costa does one - once a year out of Florida but it is the wrong time of year for me.

Going out of Boston would be nice!

I think, the longer the cruise, the more days in Bermuda, the longer the casino is closed.

The Grandeur did one 7-nt sailing from Baltimore to Bermuda earlier this month, and DH and I wanted to do it. However, other commitments made it impossible for us to take advantage of that sailing. I don't see any 7-nt sailings out of Baltimore for 2010, but we are seriously considering one of the 5-nighters.

Hi again Alpha, I just noticed your in RI, my home state. My one & only visit to Bermuda was a long time ago, when my sister and I went over with our parents. Would love to visit Bermuda again, but would need to make a longer cruise out of it. Flying from Calif for a 7 day cruise isn't cost effective.

I just got back from the 7 night Baltimore to Bermuda cruise on Grandeur. Maybe it will be something they will try again in the future. I must admit though, while Bermuda is beautiful, staying docked in the same place for two nights kinda took away from the cruise experience for me.

Hi Bette!
I've got some coffee for you. Cheers!
ALaska was great again this summer.
We took Matthew for his 16th Birthday.
To stay on topic, Bermuda for 7 days would be GREAT!

And yet for many of us that is one of the main attractions of a cruise to Bermuda - being docked at one location for a number of days, being able to walk on and off the ship on your own schedule, and using the ship as your hotel while you explore the many excellent features of Bermuda. Clearly a case of different strokes for different folks. Perhaps if the Bermuda government ever succeeds in getting a bill passed which would allow the ships to open their casinos while in Bermuda, you will see more 7 nighters offered.

Hi fellow Rhode Islander Desert Cruizers. How long since you've been here?

I cruised out of San Diego on the Mexican Riviera itin, so we flew to CA for a cruise....we thought it was well worth it, we stayed a few extra days and loved San Diego.

This will be my first time docking overnight...we are only doing a 5 day cruise, but I look forward to staying in port overnight.

One of the great things about cruising...there is something for everyone.

Default Likely not for a while

Issues with Burmuda

1) Hamilton and St George harbors are too small to accept even the smallest RCCL ship, so that leaves Kings Warf which is crowded these days!

2) Burmuda likes to limit those on-shore any given point in time, so again the bigger ships are an issue

3) Unlike many (if not most ports) Burmuda is not that welcoming to middle-class lines or cruises at all for that matter. They do try to get the higher-end lines in hopes passengers will spend more $ ashore

4) All that time steaming to get there is expensive what with fuel prices and all

Honestly I'm surprised with all those former R-Class ships that Azmara and Princess haven't made a play for Bermuda, yet!

I hate to say it but I am looking at Holland America for Bermuda next year, must be a small ship because it docks in St. George's and Hamilton. Also they spend the most time in Bermuda.

We sailed with NCL last year because of the longer time in Bermuda. This coming year we will look at Celebrity also
.

Suz,

Thanks for the invitation. We leave on Thurs. for 9 nights on RCCL's Explorer of the Seas. We just love sailing out of Bayonne. I'll join the Summit roll call when we return. I can only handle one roll call at a time.

I am just curious as to how many sea days there would be on a 7 night cruise to the Bahamas? I am not a fan of sea days, I prefer only 1 on a 7 night cruise. However, I would love to visit the Bahamas, and via cruise would be the best!
