Default Booze cruise?

My college friend is interested in a booze cruise. Does anyone know where he might be able to find this? Which port of call would be the best place to find one? He is in Galveston and is thinking of taking a Carnival cruise to Western Caribbean.

Thanks!

I'm confused about the term. Some people call the cruise itself a "booze cruise" if they are planning to drink themselves silly for a few days. Or is he talking about an excursion with an open bar? There is nothing actually labeled a booze cruise. If it's an excursion, then look at options in Cozumel.

I worked in the cruise industry for 10 years and have been sailing for more than that and have never heard of a cruise being promoted or sold as a "booze cruise".

I've known people to get on, start drinking and they don't stop until you disembark. That was their own personal booze cruise.

If your friend is looking for a younger, party crowd, then Carnival is definitely the way to go.

Otherwise, it's really up to your friend to solicit his own drinking buddies and create his own "booze cruise" group.

If you're referring to a day sail as an excursion where alcohol is included (that's my definition of a "booze cruise") then check the excursions for your sailing---read the description....
I've seen them in the Bahamas, but I'm pretty sure they have them at most islands.

Any excursion or sailing excursion which indicates it supplies and OPEN BAR is generally considered a booze cruise. The liquor is free-flowing and free of charge.

I have heard several people talk about booze cruise. Both times it was on a old pirate ship. The first person told me that the pirate ship went by the crusie ship and all was quiet. On the return they went by, people were having a great time, there was bras etc hanging from ropes and lots of well lubricated vacationers. Not sure of the port-must have been one of the rum producing ports

You can do bar hops as excursions. Also Carnival has a deal with groups that to me is expensive. Everyone in the group must pay for the unlimited bar, about $22 a day I think it comes to, even children have to pay I guess, as they say everyone must pay the cost to get it with the group.

I'm guessing Barbados. They have something like this.

the 3 or 4 day cruises are often referred to booze cruises also...just the nature of which pax they attract...they are short and cheap so much of the time you get a more active and younger crowd that really enjoys late nights and a lot of booze

This excursion is offered in several ports. Some call it the "Jolly Roger Day Sail" You sail off to some secluded beach. Usually about an hour sail, a couple of hrs at the beach and an hr sail back. Unlimited rum punch the entire trip! As someone above said, check the shore excurions for specific sailings, but I don't ever remember an excursion like this NOT being offered on just about every multiple port Caribbean cruise I've ever been on.

How can cruise lines promote this kind of excursion, knowing what we know about excessive alcohol consumption (health risks, bad behavior, passengers going overboard....)??? Seems like it would be a big liability.

There is also a "Party Boat" in Progresso.

The one in Cozumel is probably a better choice.

I believe Cancun has a pirate booze cruise!
I wish I had done that when I went to Cancun, but we did so many other things and that one just didn't make it to the top of the list. haha.

St. Thomas used to have the Kon Tiki - don't know if they still do. THAT was a booze cruise! As I recall it was rum punch. We went to a beach for swimming and MORE rum punch. Probably Megan's Bay? I really don't remember. I have pictures, just limited recollection! (And it was YEARS ago; I was about 18; not something I've done recently!)

I don't know what others mean by a "BOOZE Cruise" but to us that is when we are on a ship that is stopping in either Puerto Rico or the USVI because then we can restock our home liquor cabin with 10-12 bottles of good booze for reasonable prices.

If you check out my signature you will see we have made a bunch of "Booze cruises". Actually part of that is we live in Florida and have gotten some good deals on cruises at the last minute many times.

Have a great next "BOOZE" cruise no matter what it means to you.
