Default Just Back from Nautica Cruise from Istanbul to Venice

We arrived back on Sunday from a wonderful cruise. We spent several days in Istanbul prior to the cruise and a day in Venice after the cruise and were very happy we did. We loved Istanbul and will go back there someday and when we arrived in Venice along with 4 other huge ships were happy we did not have to deal with the airport there that day.

The food on the ship was delicious everywhere we dined, the staff were unbelievably gracious and attentive, our butler, Ray, was superb and the cruise director was Leslie Jon - what more could we ask for!!!

The ship was unable to anchor off Amalfi but stayed overnight and next day in Sorrento so all we had to do to reach our driver and guide for the day was to call him from Sorrento. We used all private guides and they were wonderful with the exception of one in Rhodes. We were able to book private tours ahead of time and saw exactly what we wanted when we wanted.

We made ample use of the laundry and dry cleaning on board the ship and the prices were much less there than at home. I wish we could bring them home with us.

We can't wait for our next cruise on Oceania!

The weather was quite warm and sunny - we had off and on showers on the Sunday we left Istanbul and on the day we did the Amalfi Coast. From Montenegro thru Venice is was fairly cool but sunny.

May I ask which guide you used in Rhodes?

We used Michael at Rhodesprivatetours dot com but he was the one we thought could have been better. However he did take us to a great place for a delicious lunch on the water.

I have to agree with you Marebear, we had a 5 hour tour with the same driver, and it was just okay.
