Default What are Bad Boarding Times for the Victory

Hi all,

I have another question. I've read postings from folks who boarded the ship early (11:30am - 12:30pm). They said that embarkation was a breeze! They were early so I can totally understand that.

But, we're arriving at the airport around 2:30pm and I'm concerend that the lines will be horrific at that time.

What's your experience with boarding the ship in the midafternoon (2:30 - 4:30pm)?

Do you think we should keep ourselves busy and head to the ship later in the evening (like 5 - 7pm) after the crowds?

Your feedback will be greatly appreciated!!!

Just go when you are ready. It is like Disney, even if the lines are long, they move pretty fast. (esp now almost everyone fills out the fun pass online)

I don't think you'll have a problem. Usually if there is a traffic jam it's when they first start boarding.

Blueslily,
When are you going on the Victory? My husband and I will be there in June and have scheduled to go around 11:30 check in, drop baggage and then head b ack out to enjoy the city until dinner time. I was told that we need to be back on ship by 7pm
Happy Sailing

We're going on the Victory the week of Dec. 13th. I'm very excited.

Any more comments on what the lines were like when you past cruisers got on the ship? What time did you board and what were the lines like?

Thanks a bunch!!!!

The Victory is different, because the ship doesn't leave until 9 PM, embarkation is spread out evenly throughout the day.

When we took that cruise (Destiny at the time), we showed up about 2-230 and moved right the through the check in process. The only delay was clearing security.

If there is a line at security, not to worry, it is a good time to visit the duty free shops right beside the security area.

Default Blueslily!

We are on that cruise, too!!! 45 days to go! I can hardly wait.

Everything I read, with the exception of when immigration is checking everyone getting off the ship, embarkation goes fairly fast.

Like you I read about our upcoming cruise during lunch. Have you checked out some of the great reviews on here? Tiggerman101 wrote a great reveiw.

The roll call seems rather light and quiet. Not much talking over there. Hope to see you on here more as the countdown continues.

Joy

Thanks everyone!

I really have heard that boarding earlier is fine, but I'm mostly worried about the peak rush at 2 - 4pm. What's that like?

We just sailed on the Victory 10/18-10/25. WE HAD A GREAT TIME!
I can't help much with the answer to your question concerning boarding between 1430-1600 hours. We stepped from the taxi at the pier at about 1150 hours and we walked onto the ship in 30 minutes flat. I thought that was exceptional.

Once onboard, you can get a bite to eat or even lay out on the deck chairs in the sun, but the cabin access for us was not available until 1430 hours. Not really a problem because we got a chance to take a lot of pictures of the ship, the pier area, etc. plus catch a bite to eat.

Also, did I mention that WE HAD A GREAT TIME! Enjoy!

Awesome! I wish that we were arriving earlier, but our plane doesn't land until 2:30pm. I heard that it's VERY congested at that time. Last year I stayed in line for nearly 1.5 hours when my plane got in at 2:30pm.
