Question Pool bands; NOS; Rythm Section

I was just browsing around and see a couple threads about the pool band playing time being shorter than in previous years, and/or that the quality of the bands is not as good (and maybe they aren't steel drum bands).

Does anyone have any current comments about that? Particularly, how is it on Navigator these days?

On two of our cruises, Rythm Section was the pool band and they were wonderful.

I'll be really sad if that part of the cruise "experience" has been cut down!

On our last cruise, we did NOT have 'steel drum band'--it was 2 guys, playing "computerized" background music...one played guitar, the other, keys....their repetoire was small and (thankfully), they only played about 1 hour, twice a day. They were NOT very good.
The bands are different on every ship....we just got a bad one, I guess!

On my Feb cruise, the band played just a few sets (I don't remember how long the sets were...an hour? 90 min?) a day. Not enough for my liking. It was mostly piped in music. Also I remember thinking the band played well but the singer was pretty weak. But I still enjoyed them. I wish they'd play longer on sea days, though...
