Cool Shade on the Crown??

I was on the Crown last year and am returning this fall. I won't have a balcony cabin and the Crown has the narrow promenade, so no chaise lounge chairs. I haven't been spending as much time in the sun lately, but I still love to sit out on a chaise, read a book, look at the ocean, take a nap, etc. I really never found a nice, fairly quiet place like that on the Crown. Other than the Sanctuary, are there any nice shaded spots to relax?

Thanks.

Yes, the aft Terrace pool area is wonderful and there is a considerable amount of shade in the area. It is my most favorite spot on any ship, any line.

Thanks. I did check that out on the Crown, but it seemed like the the lounge chairs were in the sun. On the Grand, there were a lot of lounge chairs under the overhang, but I didn't find that on the Crown. I'll check it out again, though. Thanks for responding.

I think this will be a hit or miss thing. We were on the Crown last year and will be again in
January. I don't think there is a real answer to your question without knowing the time of day, etc. Just look around. I do recommend the aft pool without hesitation for anything!

Oops just shared my secret!

Well, you do have to move around to stay in the shade, but I've never had a problem with the lounge chairs.

I'll certainly check it out again. I love the aft pool area. It may be just a situation with how the staff sets out the chairs from cruise to cruise. This is my one main complaint about the newer ships (which is a lot like Carnival ships), they give up shaded outdoor area for more public space indoors. I don't like the narrow promenade. I'm going on the Sapphire in February, so I'm looking forward to the bigger promenade there. I was just hoping someone had found a "hidden" space I hadn't seen. LOL. Thank you.
