Default No safe or fridge in our room on the Monarch

We booked late and had limited choices in our price range, so with no safe how do I keep my money and other valuables safe? I'm sure most of the cabin stewards are honest, but I'm not comfortable leaving my valuables around and certainly don't want to take everything with me when I leave the room.

Thanks for your input.

Just got off the Monarch last week. Our room steward let us know there are a limited number of safe deposit type boxes at the Pursers desk. So get there early and request one!

OR

There was also a little cubby hole in the cabinet next to the bed in our cabin. We just put our stuff in a bag and stuffed it in the cubby hole. Never had a single issue.

In the bag and under the bed is my tried and true method. I also think you have nothing to fear from your cabin steward - they're not going to risk their jobs for our stuff unless we happen to have the Hope Diamond sitting out on the counter.

Thank you all for your responses. I appreciate them. I'll check at the Purser desk and if that doesn't work, locked up in my suitcase. Just wish I did have the Hope Diamaond

Rays, how was the weather and water last week? Chilly or comfortable? Thanks again.

The weather was sunny, about 85 degrees, but very windy. We missed Coco Cay. Very very comfortable though. We had 2 days at sea which was actually very relaxing.

It has actually warmed back up even more this week. Highs near 90 again.

Take a disposable camera, take all the photos, then open it up, remove the film, and get to the internal electronics. You need to solder two wires, one on each side of the flash capacitor. Leave the other ends exposed outside of the camera case, and set the camera down on top of your valuables. Before leaving the room, charge the flash on the camera.

If you find a steward with two red welts on his hand, you know you have a problem.

(NOTE: This was a joke! Do not attempt the above!)

tbjl24, thanks for the weather report. I was worried it might be chilly. I'm a florida girl and I like the 80+ temperatures.

I guess they figure the people who book those rooms in steerage don't have anything worth stealing..
