Unhappy Stan & Jim

Where are Stan & Jim? I have not seen a post from them in quiet a while & I miss their informative & funny (at times) posts. And love the pictures they come up with. Are they off cruising somewhere? I'm jealous of anyone who is cruising at the moment when I can't? Looking at Regatta's Web Cam is not the same as being there.Rhonda

Maybe they're cruising and not checking in?? Go figure, taking a break from everyday life on a vacation

Just say something nasty about Oceania and they'll turn up, I'm sure.

I miss them too. They/you were on the Nautica (the cruise before mine) and I loved reading up on all their excursion plans. I booked a few of the same tours saved me alot of time researching. You had a very active group in contrast to mine. The roll call for my upcoming cruise in May is again very quiet.

Default Wow, we were the topic of a post!

Hello All-

How nice to return to the boards and see this post!

You caught is! We were away in October and early November.
We love to cruise, but in the fall we need our .......

"Just lay on the beach under a palm tree vacation."

We had the Laptop with us, and the resort had WIFI, but other matters seemed more pressing

Being a couple of cockeyed optimists, we were sure that we'd be able to book the Marina for late '10 by the time we got home, but so far, nothing.
What does a person have to DO to book a maiden voyage around here?

Default Stan & Jim

I'm afraid all of us waiting for info on Marina are going to have to wait even longer.

On 11-23-09, I e-mailed Oceania, asking why there had been no Marina updates as promised to those who registered with Oceania Cruises for said updates.

I received an e-mail response from Vicki Sanjuro-Diez, Special Services Coordinator for Oceania Cruises, informing me that itineraries would not be available until early 2011!

I then asked for perhaps a peek at deck plans, and was told they were not available!

I do believe that Oceania Cruise Lines is not handling this as well as they should and could have handled it.

Perhaps all of us who are waiting for Marina information should inundate Oceania with e-mails!

I hope not; she's supposed to be launched by then! Perhaps early 2010? That's the latest info I have from my agent...

I'm pretty sure she meant early 2010.
As far as I know, construction is ongoing, so it should not take more than another year to launch.

Try www.palaceresorts.com. We've been associated with them since 02/1999. Since they expanded to Nuevo Vallarta on the west coast of Mexico, that's where we go. Cancun is a haul for DW. It's difficult to get there from Reno. The days of rising at 4:00 am to catch a flight are long gone!!!

Contact me at leonid49r@gmail.com if you'd like more info.

Well, I certainly hope you are right, Jan.

Spring of '11 does seem like a long ways out - but I still do not understand the reluctance to release some preliminary drawings of deck plans.

Two issues ago of their in-house magazine, Oceania did have the drawing of the cut-away side of Marina, and I thought it said watch those pages for further info - which has not been forthcoming.

Several of us on Cruise Critic were under impression that information re deck plans and itineraries would be out in Sept or so, and the itinerary contest seemed to imply that also.

I think Oceania's PR people are dropping the ball - were I the Head Honcho, I would insure that a blog was produced, with regular updates and supported with photos.
