Default Greetings - first time poster on RCL board from an NCL fan

Hi everyone - yes, I'm an NCL fan through and through who comes in peace!!!

I just saw a bunch of news stories on that beautiful new Oasis of the Seas and found myself on the RCCL website for the first time. What a gorgeous ship!

Now my question - I see she is going out of Finland to Florida. Is she picking up any passengers along the way or is this transatlantic for crew only? How do they plan to roll her out to the public down in Florida - will there be "industry only" cruises before the general public is allowed to sail on her?

Thanks in advance for your responses!

She is sailing transatlantic with just crew and RC people.

There is a lot of information about the Oasis on the Oasis forum: http://boards.cruisecritic.com/forumdisplay.php?f=554

Welcome to the RCCL boards. We don't bite.

The TA is just for crew and training. They have flown nearly 2,100 crew to Finland for the orientation and training trip back to Florida where they will finish the installation of all of the plantings and trees in the Central Park area of the ship. In addition to the link listed above, Good Morning America (ABC) will be live on the ship in late November - around the 20th, I belive, for a first hand look. There are several trade functions before the first revenue cruise on December 1st.

It's an amazing ship and I look forward to cruising on her or her sister ship the Allure at least once in the next year or two (booked for December 2010).
