Default can I bring wine onboard for our guests?

5 years ago we sailed on the VOS for our wedding cruise, and we were allowed to bring on wine as presents for our guests. I would like to do the same for our group, for our upcoming 5 year anniversary cruise. We did not sneek it onboard or anything like that. We just stated at the time that it was for our wedding group , and they let us carry the cases onboard. Does anyone have any recent experience with a situation like this. I know the rules for bringing on alcohol for personal consumption, but wondered If they would make an exception for our guests to have a gift from our family winery.. Thanks in Avance Jessi

I am afraid that if you know the rules for bringing alcohol on board, then you also know the answer to your question. Why would they make an exception for you, a gift is a gift no matter where it is from. Sorry.

It sounds like the last time you sailed was prior to the wine ban going into affect. The wine ban was 2006.

You could bring the wine with you and assume that it will get confiscated. If it does, RC should provide you with a receipt so you can claim it and hand out the bottles on the last night of the cruise. Your guests wouldn't be able to drink the wine onboard, but at least they could have it for home. If it isn't confiscated (some people have posted that their bottles weren't) then you'd have it onboard for your friends.

The rules on this are pretty clear as in it´s not allowed. Now if they would make an exemtion for you nobody on here would be able to answer.
Anyhow my personal opinion on this is I highly doubt they will allow this.
If they would - knowing these boards - pretty soon the Roll calls would be organizing boards for bringing booze for "family" and "friends" as a gift onboard

I don't think it could hurt anything to give them a call, explain your situation, and see what they say. If you're staying in a suite, you could also try emailing the concierge. I wouldn't be too hopeful, though.
