Default How Much: Princess Transfer from ship to MIA?

We're on the Coral Princess in January and will be flying out of Miami rather than FLL because we can get a direct flight to LAX (no direct flights from FLL to LAX). We opted to take an afternoon flight rather than rush to the airport. I'm researching shuttles and have a quote from a shuttle company but before I booked them, I want to know how much Princess charges for a transfer from the ship to MIA. Anyone know?

That doesn't sound too bad. I was quoted $78 for the van plus an automatic 20% tip plus $5 for using a credit card. That works out to about $33/pp for the three of us so $25 is looking good.

I'm on the Crown in December. I took the one way transfer from FLL to MIA and I'm pretty sure it is $19 pp.

Is that from airport-to-airport or ship-to-airport? From your terminology, I'm assuming airport-to-airport, which is not something we want to do, i.e., schlep everything to FLL and then board another van for MIA.

We changed our flight from FLL to MIA for the same reason. We wanted a non-stop to LAX. Princess said that the transfer price (ship to airport) was the same for MIA as FLL.

My wife and i are cruising next month on RCI's Navigator from Miami.

After our cruise we are booked with SAS Transport (http://ridesas.com/)from the cruiseport in Miami to FLL airport.

Cost is $15pp. Lots of recommendations on CC for this company.

This is in my confirmation from them:

William,

This is confirmation for transportation from the Port of Miami to the FLL Airport on 12-14.

Please call the number listed below just before you go into the customs building so that I know you are beginning your debarkation from your ship.

I will then let you know where to meet the van once you do come out of the customs building.

The cost for this is $15 per person which you will pay to the driver when you get dropped off at the FLL Airport.

Hope this helps

Bill

Cool

PAM:

Thanks so much for asking this. It seems like all of us Californians must fly to Miami. Last year, on the Ruby Inaugural, my DD and I had an awful connection at DFW - never again.

Going home, we took the Princess tour to the Flamingo Gardens, Alligators at the swamp and show and Everglades airboat. It is a great little shorex to get you and your bags to the airport.

I, also, am flying LAX > MIA. However, I cannot use the Princess shuttle because I am going a few days early. I love touring around in FLL beach. What is the name, or website, of the shuttle you are using, Pam ?

Thanks, William, for your suggestion. I shall also look at that website.

Fair Winds and Following Seas.

You can still use the Princess shuttle, book it in then normal way. You just need to be at the airport since that is the only place they leave from.

Yes I've done that too. Stayed at an airport hotel the night before and took the hotel shuttle to the airport in the morning and taken the cruiseline transfer.

Default We fly from LAX, too

We're sailing on the Crown next spring and I booked our flights to MIA because we could go nonstop and it was cheaper. I booked with SAS transportation to pick us up at MIA and take us to our hotel in Fort Lauderdale. Then on the return trip, they will pick us up at the ship and take us to MIA. I think the price was $20 per person each way, but I don't have the paperwork with me.

First of all, Delta has one nonstop between LAX and FLL a day, but the times are not that great. The flight from FLL to LAX leaves at 7:30am and the flight from LAX to FLL leaves at 9:50pm. That being said, I think the transfers from the port in FLL to MIA airport are about 25$ PP, thats not bad.

A cab will cost $24 for POM to MIA. They are plentiful. No waiting for a shuttle to fill. The ride takes about 20 mins.

Since you didn't quote anybody I was wondering who you were answering.

I thought the question was about getting to MIA airport from Port Everglades in FLL.
