No free drinks at the Captain's Cocktail party, just photo op, but they still had free drinks at the Latitudes party on our B2B Jan/Feb Jade cruises.

I'm not sure what we were invited to, and attended, last month on the Spirit but the Captain and Officers were there and there was wine and cheese offered at no charge. There was also the Latitudes get-together but, this was in addition to that. We're Silver Latitudes. I'm not sure if I'm helping here, I have the feeling I'm just confusing you (and everyone else). Sorry. I would say that if it was the "Captain's Cocktail Party" that we attended, then, yes, they do serve free drinks.

I was referring to the regular Captain's party for EVERYONE onboard. RCI still had this in September with free drinks for all who attended. Yes, silver latitudes and above do get a special party on NCL, but back in January we were only bronze so not eligible for a silver and above party.

Hey folks...just to get this straight there is no longer a "regular Captain's party" on NCL .(To me a party requires more than just shaking a hand. )There are two Latitudes parties, one for all Latitudes members, and a second for Silver and above Latitudes members. There also can be a VIP party for suite guests and other VIPs.

I attended many latitudes parties this year on NCL at the bronze level where the bubbly flowed freely.

We were in an AE on the Dawn in October, and we went to 2 Latitudes parties, the Captain's cocktail party, and the VIP wine & cheese party.
First time we've been to that many parties on NCL, and I think the VIP party is new. We've never attended one before this cruise. It was in Dazzles and the music was Fire & Ice, who did the Tina Turner review earlier in the cruise.
There was a table with cheese, crackers & fruit. It was a totally different feel and experience from the other larger parties, at least for me.
You could have whatever you wanted to drink at the Captain's cocktail party and the VIP party. I don't know about the Latitudes party though.

They have a latitudes party for ALL repeat passengers with free cocktails, finger foods, and officers line up as you enter. You can get your picture taken with Captain upon entrance to lounge. The Captain speaks and introduces his senior staff. A host then gives out prizes.

They have a silver/gold/platinum party with free cocktails, finger foods, and officers line up as you enter...or not...depending on their schedule. They might stick around to mingle depending on their schedule.

They also have a VIP party for suite guests. This one has free cocktails, finger foods, and the officers line up as you enter, and you get your picture taken with Captain upon entrance. Officers usually stick around until the end and mingle with the guests.

Sometimes the Courtyard villa, Garden villa, and owner suites guests have yet another party in the courtyard villa. Do not know what goes on there but I have heard/read about this.

On my last sailing, I think they combined the silver/gold/platinum party with the VIP suite party...at least that is what was written on the invitation.

Lastly, they do not have latitudes events on the shorter sailings...the three, two, and one nighters.
