Default Inside Promenade Cabins

Looking at booking a cruise on Mariner OTS and have never been on a ship with the promenade. Any info that you can provide (pros/cons) about these cabins would be much appreciated.
Thank you in advance!

Try to go midship so you can enjoy whats going on in Promenade. Try for deck 7 not 6 as it may be over a bar or someplace that could be noisy at night. Make sure you keep the curtains closed when dressing/undressing as you can see into room from across the way. The room seems larger than inside room as there is a window seat by the bow window giving the feeling of more room. Although it is not natural light coming in it is still better than an inside room. Of course an outside or balcony is better but for the price you can't go wrong if you are comparing to inside rooms.

Especially the suggestion of trying to get deck 7!

I just booked a promenade on deck 6 last weekend due to some others advice about no noise except for possibly over the pub. Deck six is an easy walk down only one flight of stairs to get to the promenade.

It will be my humble duty to report back to this board on May 30 when we return!!!!

Default Thank you!

Thank you everyone for your wonderful insight! I'm curious as to whether the windows open at all.

Cheers!

No--the windows don't open and they are double-paned to decrease noise infiltration.

Windows on ships NEVER open...only doors open!

Default Deck 7 on Mariner of the Seas

Haven't had a promanade stateroom so can't help you there. We had a balcony stateroom -7342 - on deck 7 and it was great. Midship and not to far from the elevators. No noise. We enjoyed deck 7 so much that we booked deck 7 on FOS on our last cruise. The Mariner is our favorite ship. Whatever you choose just have a wonderful time.

You get great views of all the parades and activities. You also get great views of the people in the cabins across from you. People really need to close their curtains. I have seen MUCH more than I intended to. Don't know if some of these people are exibitionists, or just stupid.

Default Try it!

We had our first PR room last cruise. We were happy with it. We like to try new things, so it was a PR this RCL cruise. We were on deck 7, mid-ship. Great view of Promenade, and great for people watching, or the "freak show" as my DH referrred to it. Close enough for coffee in AM at Cafe, and seemed roomier then an inside. If you have had OV, Balcony and Inside, try it. You will enjoy it. Balconies are great if you are going to have great scenery, Alaska, Hawaii, etc., but really not needed when you spend more time out of the room then in.

we were on deck 8 on voyager
prom cabins are great
but as others have said think deck 7 is best
deck 8 you dont get as good a view of the promande and there was a huge spotlight outside our window, obstructed view to one side, but not a big deal. you have to get your nose on the window to get a good view of whats going on, on 7 its better, on 6 some complain about the noise, so if you are on 6 the best thing to do is go down the pub
some pics on the link, with some views from the room
any chance of coming with you?

Smile Thanks again!

Can't thank you enough for all of your responses - you're the best!! We went ahead and booked adjoining prom cabins on deck 7, mid-ship on Mariner OTS. Thank you MickFoxland for sharing your pictures. It was interesting to see the views from your prom stateroom. Anyone else have any pics of and view from your room?
We've done this itinerary before but now we can also look forward to the Mariner and the different cabins! We're so excited!! (I'm sure you know the feeling

We were in a promenade room on deck nine, great views but one problem was that we were across from the pub that had kereoke. It was very loud and went until 1:30 some mornings. I would never book a promenade room again because of it.

We disliked the Promenade room for the lack of privacy. Don't want to close the curtains every time we were in the room. Also looking down on the parades does not give the same buzz as being down there in the middle of the action. Def would not book another.

We just had a prom room on the Voyager in the Med last month and liked it very much. Next month going on the Liberty and again taking a PR room on deck 8 - someone posted here that there were problems with these rooms on deck 8 but we've not had any problems.

Just got off the Explorer and had promenade cabin deck 8.
Loved it! We thought the room was very big and loved that it had a love-seat and window seat. It really felt spacious. we would definitely choose it again.

We booked adjoining promenade rooms on Mariner OTS as well. We'll be doing the Thanksgiving cruise. Can't wait. Thanks everyone for your comments.
