Question Cigars on Rotterdam

So I've trolled through a lot of the older threads, and can't seem to find the answers I'm looking for. Which is why I love coming here! So many helpful people with mostly helpful answers.

I've noticed on the new programs, that they no longer list "Cigars under the Stars" as an evening activity. DH is looking forward to a glass of brandy and a cigar in the evenings, and I'm hoping they still offer it, but it just isn't listed anymore. Does anyone know if this is the case?

Also I'd like to buy him a gift of the 3 pre-paid cigars before we sail. Does anyone know what cigars they typically offer? Or would he be better off bringing his own?

Thanks for any advice you can give!

Wink Cigars

We just got off the Westerdam and they have stopped selling cigars in the shops. You can still purchase them at the Lido bar on the aft deck but the selection is very limited.

Would suggest you go to a good shop and get them and then wrap them and give them to him when he leaves for the ship. Or give him the maney to buy some good ones in port.

From what I know of cigar smokers, they have preferred brands..... I think he'd be better off bringing his own.

As for "Cigars under the Stars", we've NOT sailed on the Rotterdam, but the last 3 trips I've had on the Ryndam, I have not seen that listed. Mind you, 2 of those trips were to Alaska, so perhaps it was considered too cold to be outside or perhaps it was still too light at the time the event is normally held.

It might be worth calling HAL and asking for the Rotterdam's Ship Coordinator -- perhaps they'd have more concrete information.

Thank you both for the great info! I'm sure he'd much prefer his favorites over a poor selection. And I will try and reach the coordinator to find out if the activity is still offered.

If not, would he be welcome to sit out at night on his own with a cigar? A little boring, but I guess I could keep him company with a 'warming' beverage
