Default Question About Bungalow Assignment?

Earlier this week I signed up for a Bungalow for our January Crown cruise. At the time I signed up there were 12 Available. How does Princess assign them?
Now I take it from what I read we DO Not get Priority tender tickets for having the Bungalow that is unfortunate

We have booked bungalows for the last 2 years and have received priority tender tickets. I am expecting the same for when we are on the Crown in January 23rd.

My understanding as to how they assign the bungalows to whoever books them first. Then I believe people can be put on a waitlist in case someone backs out.

That is good to know they are still giving out priority tender tickets That then leads me to another question, we are sharing the Bungalow with another couple that are in a different cabin will I be able to talk to the Excursion Desk to have them give the other couple Priority Tender tickets?

It makes sense they assign the Bungalows in order of when you signed up but then do they give you a chance to pick location? Or do they assign closest to farthest away ??

I saw a recent picture of the Bungalows from what Host Dan posted and I am wondering do they face the beach/water from the porch, it appeared in the picture that the back of the Bungalows had water off in the distance behind them. Are they located right near the beach. I have never actually see any good pictures of the Bungalows and their location on the Island

You do not get a choice of location.

The bungalows are all along the beach and face the water. There is no rhyme nor reason as to the assignments.

When you come off the tender pier... go to your left. There will be golfcart drivers there to take you to your bungalow.

We just got back from the Emerald and had YellowElder. #5, I think it was.

Oh, and there were no priority tender passes. You just go to the theater like everyone else. Go early...they board the tenders by the row seating in the theater. We were in row #5 and were on the second tender.

It's unfortunate that you pay all that money and don't get priority tendering, get to pick your bungalow, or anything special. I think it's the same amount as HAL's bungalows but HAL seems to have it much better organized.

ocngypz - We have a Bungalow reserved for our Nov 15th sailin (6 days!) on the Emerald. I'm disappointed we will not be getting priority tender. How early did you get to the theater to get on the 2nd tender?

I would not say you cannot get your choice of which bungalow you will get. The first thing we did (Emerald 10/2008) when we boarded was to go to the excursion desk and they DID give us our choice of bungalows. At that time the person at the desk also asked how many priority ticlets we needed. I have read different experiences on these boards, however, depending on the ship. I would give the excursion desk a try. The worse that can happen is they say no. Good Luck

And I was with you.

Also, contrary to a what has been posted by some others, our lunch was served to us in the bungalow.

Please let us know how the whole bungalow thing goes? I have just booked it as I want to give my dad, who is 80, a place to roost. I had understood that lunch would be brought to us but if this is not the case, I may need to re-thing this. We will be on 3/20 Crown sailing.
TIA.

We leave on Saturday on the Crown and we have one of the new Sanctuary Bungalows reserved. I'll be sure to post everything about it.

Quick question. We are on the Emerald Princess departing FLL on May 2nd. We have visibility to reserve various other excursions on the other islands, but can't do anything yet in the Bahamas. We want to book a Bungalow. Can anyone tell me when they usually open up the option to view/book a bungalow for the 1st week in May? Thx.

We were going to book one for the same reason, we have elderly people traveling with us. We wanted my Mom and Dad to be able to see our son playing on the beach and in the water.

After reading some info we have changed our minds. It seems as if there is some sort of wall in front of it-between the Bungalow and the water? Is this correct?

Also, have heard that they are far from the pier and the restrooms. Is there still transportation to the bugalows?

In front of the bungalows is the beach into the water sandy or rocky?

Thanks for any help!!!

Both times we've booked a bungalow they were available when the other excursions were. I suggest you call Princess to see if they can help you. They may already be all booked and you'll need to go on a waitlist.

Good luck!

Our Princess Cays Bungalow experience was a nightmare, probably because we waited until most people had already taken the tenders to shore before we left the ship. We were directed to one a far, far walk from the pier (this was a couple of years ago, so maybe they have a better system in place now). When we got there, a family with small children was parked directly in front of our bungalow on the sand. We could hardly even get in the thing, as the entire entrance was blocked. After a few minutes of no view and screaming kids, we repacked our stuff and trudged back to the sidewalk and high-tailed it to the tender to return to the ship! From reading some of the other posts, it looks like the situation has improved. I would book the bungalow to make sure you get it, then check in with the Tour Office when you board the ship to get specifics. Often, they are the ones with the correct answers to these types of questions, since calling Princess to get these types of details is often futile. if you don't like what you are told at the Tour Office, you can cancel the Bungalow. They always seem to be waitlisted by the time you board. Good Luck!

They now have Sanctuary bungalows that do not allow children.
