Red face Chops (hopefully) Table for 2 on the Jewel ?

I made a MAJOR MAJOR mistake - booked my excursions but didn't realize how impt it was to book the restaurants. Today I picked the night and found it didn't matter - there wasn't a table for 2 available any night at anytime. I can however get a table for 4 which I would have booked if they would have let me. I have never had a problem booking it when we board but I guess that was before the day of online reservations.

I called C&A to see if they save some for people who don't book everything online (there must be one or two) and they said I can get on the waiting list when I board. Has anyone had any success with that?? Must I miss it .......

Book when you get on board, there are usually some tables saved for on board bookings.

We were not able to get the time we wanted on line so went there when we boarded and absolutely no issue. Most nights it looked empty in there.

On our Jewel cruise, we decided around 2:00 that we wanted to go to Chops that night and we called. They had us a table at 5:00pm. Sometimes you have a better chance if you go earlier. We opted for a table for 4 by a window instead of a table for 2 in the middle of the room. Actually, I think when we got there, they let is pick our table now I think about it. Anyway, good luck!!

I had eaten at Chops a few times while on board, and suprisingly there were many open tables. I don't think you have to worry, as long as you are flexible. We were given a booth both times.

We always go to the specialty restaurants when we board (or you can call them from your stateroom) and book. I don't think they have many slots open for pre-booking. I've seen the reservation book and it's often nearly blank even when we couldn't pre-book our preferred time. If we go within a couple of hours of boarding, we've never had a problem getting the day and time that we want.

In the specialty restaurants, they won't seat you with others. They can easily put 2 people at a 4-top....they do it all the time.
You can book onboard...they're seldom full, even tho they may have taken all the advance reservations they allow themselves. Not everyone plans every minute of their vacation in advance!
