On deck barbeque

We will be sailing on the Zuiderdam to the Panama Canal in 2 weeks. Will they have an on deck barbeque some evening? Would it be an alternative to dinner in the main dining room ? If this is offerec, what night would it be?

Yes. You probably will have a barbeque on deck but the Main Dining Room will still be open for those who don't wish to go to the barbeque. I don't know your itinereary so have no idea what night it will be.

I don't know which night either, but it seems to me they are more toward the end of a cruise than the start, and on sea day.

We have never found the on deck barbeque particularly to our liking. Though the food looked tasty, there were a limited number of seats, and those who arrived early (like when it opened), seemed to expect to occupy them for the rest of the evening, as entertainment was usually provided at some point. As the evening progressed, and those that were occupying the tables finally left, the food seemed tired with fewer choices. If you plan to attend, go when it opens, or skip it.

My husband loved the Zuiderdam barbecue. I ordered room service when we got back to our cabin. :-) It was fun to sit on deck and people-watch, though.
