Default Photographers on Board? New to NCL

Can anyone tell me if NCL offers professional photographers on board? My family usually sails with RCCL, and they have professional photographers available to take portraits. We love getting a family picture every time we cruise. Can any one tell me the rates for photos if these are offered on board?

Thanks!

Yes, there are photographers onboard. They are set up on multiple nights (usually in the atrium) with several different backdrops. Sorry, can't help you with the prices - I gave up buying them years ago when the prices became outrageously high.

You will have a hard time missing them!

Seems like an 8x10 was about $25 last time we went, could have changed by now.

Sometimes they will offer package deals or discounts with multiple purchases, but not always. I've also seen the opposite where they would not allow you to buy one of the smaller pictures at a cheaper price unless you also bought an 8x10. (Although this doesn't usually apply to those gangway photos.)

Prices do seem high until you compare them to Olin Mills and others that do professional sittings. There are usually "deals" too. Like buy 3 get 1 free or coupons on board. And I bet if you want to make an appointment and get everybody together for a certain type background they will accomidate you.
Just ask. I personally don't see how they make a profit at the prices they charge. If you will take notice of how many are left in the viewing boards that last night plus the many that have already been tossed there is a lot of waste on most any cruise ship photo dept.
We usually do several sittings on formal night and buy a few or so.
While many do complain of the prices what is $25 after you just spent $2500 for the cruise?
